00:00Two of the power threats here in majors, the Phillies squaring off against the Brewers.
00:08They're one a piece for this series, Donnie.
00:10We get Aaron Nola out there for Philadelphia this afternoon, squaring off against Freddy
00:14Peralta.
00:15Both been very impressive going through the season here, so no surprises.
00:19The odds makers have this title set at a measly seven and a half in a pick-up.
00:23Ah, do we trust our eyes or do we trust the analytical numbers here, Dubsy?
00:28The reason I bring that up is Freddy Peralta is raiding those crosshairs.
00:31If we're looking at those 27 pitchers that I have raided here, he's 26th out of 27th,
00:37which is not a good sign.
00:38But if we are looking at those past 60 innings that he's pitched over the past 60 days, he's
00:42got a 3.13 ERA, which is really good in Major League Baseball.
00:46But that XFIP number is close to five, which means he's getting a little bit lucky here.
00:50Not enough strikeouts, too many fly balls.
00:52You get the picture here.
00:53But also, if we're taking a look at Freddy Peralta's last 30 days against right-handed
00:58It hasn't been great here.
00:59A .325 ISO against and a weighted-on-base percentage of .428.
01:03So if you're looking for some right-handed batters to step up to the plate and hammer
01:05away, JT Ramuto probably will be on that card.
01:08His last 51 at-bats he's had against right-handed pitching.
01:11He's got a nice .360 ISO and a weighted-on-base percentage of .485.
01:16The one guy that's not a right-handed batter but does have some crazy numbers is Kyle Schwerber.
01:20A .353 ISO and a weighted-on-base percentage of .396 over his last 78 at-bats against right-handed
01:26pitching.
01:27There are some question marks from a Philadelphia Phillies side here, Dubsy.
01:30Aaron Nola does have some pretty solid statistics over the past 60 days.
01:34He's 12th on the card today, an XFIP of 4.01.
01:37That's manageable.
01:38He did get damaged in his last start, and there's a couple of hitters in the middle
01:41of that lineup.
01:42Churio, Contreras, Mitchell, and Adamas, who have very good statistics over the past month
01:46against right-handed pitching.
01:47But for me, I think Nola can outlast Peralta.
01:50The Phillies picked up the victory yesterday.
01:52A series win today would go a long way in holding off the Los Angeles Dodgers, and quite
01:56frankly, the Milwaukee Brewers, putting an end to them trying to fight up to that number
02:00two or number one spot here.
02:02I'll take the Philadelphia Phillies.
02:03The eight is a tough number.
02:05I'd be more likely in a playoff atmosphere, Dubsy, to probably go under, saying, we don't
02:08see nine runs.
02:10But I do think there is some RBI opportunities, and I think the Phillies were able to pull
02:13out a victory against Freddy Peralta.
