Labour officially launched its campaign for the North Northamptonshire elections at Glamis Hall, Wellingborough today (March 22), keen to bring about ‘change’ on May 1.

00:00A Labour government that sticks in the country after 14 years of decline under the Tories.
00:06But here in North Northamptonshire, it's not just been 14 long years.
00:11The Tories have been in charge of Wellingborough County Council since 2003.
00:15They got hold of the County Council in 2005 and they bankrupted it twice.
00:21That meant NNC. NNC would replace our councils.
00:27And the very same people that were running the county have been left here to make the same mistakes again.
00:34Issues we see every day.
00:36Then there's Corbyn, which was followed up despite being Labour controlled since 1979.
00:42Now 23 years of Tory rule here has left our council services crumbling and in decay.
00:47I cannot tell you what a joy it is for me to be here with all of you.
00:52It is a real pleasure and I'm so excited about what is happening in the country and in our county.
01:00And I have to tell you that for me, I am an example I think, and our wonderful MPs are too, of how important power is.
01:09Without power we can't change anything.
01:12There is so much to change in our county and in our country.
01:16It's the thing that drives me out of bed every day and drives me out on the door.
01:22We have got to take power where we can.
01:25When it comes to antisocial behaviour, that genuine co-operation between the Labour government in Westminster and the Labour local authorities here,
01:32that is what these elections are all about.
01:34And the choice on the 1st of May is abundantly clear.
01:37It's about real change that matters to working people right across this country with Labour,
01:43a government and a local authority that's on your side, or more of the same.
01:48We had great plans 20 years ago.

01:54In those 20 years, they weren't in power.
01:58On the town council, on NMC, and guess what the NMP do?
