00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So, changeable conditions
00:05are expected to continue as we head through the rest of the weekend, some showers and
00:09outbreaks of rain as well, all thanks to low pressure very much in charge as we go through
00:13the rest of Saturday and Sunday. Into the new week though, we see a ridge of high pressure
00:17developing from the west. Some weather fronts still pushing in from the northwest though,
00:20toppling over the top of that area of high pressure, so perhaps a bit more cloud and
00:24rain here. But for the most of us, high pressure does mean some more settled conditions as
00:28we go into next week. Back to the rest of today though, and there is still quite a lot
00:32of wet weather around, particularly across parts of Northern Ireland, western parts of
00:36Scotland. A little bit drier across southern parts of England and Wales, but where we do
00:40see some sunshine, we are likely to see some showers bubbling up, and these could be quite
00:44heavy and thundery in places, perhaps some hail mixed in too. And with those heavy downpours,
00:48there is likely to be some surface water issues, so some localised flooding is possible in
00:53places. It is still going to be quite mild out there, so where we do see the sunshine
00:56feeling really quite pleasant, 16, 17, perhaps 18 degrees across southern areas, and even
01:01in the north, temperatures a little above average for the time of year. As we then go
01:06through the rest of Saturday evening, those showers across central areas pushing their
01:10way northwards and perhaps merging to some longer spells of rain for a time. But across
01:13Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland, that rain gradually starting to ease, so turning
01:17a little drier here into the early hours of Sunday morning. Outbreaks of rain continuing
01:22though for northern parts of England, eastern parts of Scotland, so quite a damp start to
01:25the day on Sunday here. But for southern areas, perhaps turning a little bit drier,
01:29but there is still quite a lot of cloud around overnight, and that likely to lead to quite
01:33a mild night. Temperatures in the south perhaps holding up in the double figures for some.
01:38So a bit of a brighter start across southern parts of Wales, southern and eastern parts
01:41of England, perhaps some sunny spells developing. And across western parts of Northern Ireland
01:45and northwest Scotland too, there may be some sunshine through the morning. Across eastern
01:49parts of Scotland, northern England, still remaining rather quite cloudy, but perhaps
01:53that rain gradually starting to ease through the morning. And while we do see the sunshine
01:56across the southeast, there will be some more showers bubbling up again. These could be
01:59quite heavy and thundery in places, even some hail mixed in too, so perhaps some surface
02:04water issues again across the very far southeast. Temperatures still well above average for
02:09the time of year for most of us, 17, 18, perhaps 19 degrees. So again, feeling really quite
02:14pleasant in that sunshine in the south. And even in the north, 10, 11, perhaps 12 degrees,
02:18so just a little bit above average here. As we then go through Sunday evening, still
02:23remaining quite cloudy across northern England for a time. The showers across the southeast
02:27perhaps gradually starting to push their way south and westwards as we go into the start
02:31of Monday morning. And then across Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland, turning
02:35much drier with plenty of clear spells developing, all thanks to that ridge of high pressure
02:39that's building in from the west into the start of the new week, bringing us some more
02:42settled conditions. But do make sure you hit subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep up
02:46to date with that through next week. Bye for now.
