00:00Good afternoon from Pag-Asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03This is our update for the upcoming 24 hours.
00:08We can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:11the thick clouds that are moving in the southern portion of our country
00:16is the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ
00:21that is currently causing rain here in the Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi area
00:26and the southern portion of Palawan.
00:29That is why in the mentioned areas, we should continue to be prepared and alert
00:33in terms of flooding and landslides,
00:35especially if the rain that we are going to experience continues.
00:38The effect has decreased and the shoreline is receding.
00:42In the past few days, it has rained in a large portion of Visayas and Bicol region.
00:48So, this is no longer affecting our country.
00:50This is now offshore.
00:52So, the major weather system that is affecting a large portion of Visayas, Nindanao
00:56and most of southern Luzon is the easterly or the hot wind from the Pacific Ocean.
01:02The effect of the northeast monsoon has also decreased.
01:07So, the axis has increased or the effect of the northeast monsoon
01:10that is currently affecting this area of northern and central Luzon,
01:14the areas affected by the weather system.
01:17So, the whole country, excluding the southern portion of Palawan
01:21and Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi area,
01:23will experience the weather.
01:25We still have a chance of light rain in Pagkambon, Metro Manila
01:29and the rest of northern and central Luzon.
01:32Meanwhile, there is a chance of thunderstorms here in southern Luzon, Visayas and Nindanao.
01:38At the moment, we are not yet aware of the low-pressure area
01:41or the bad weather inside and outside of our par
01:44that could cause a storm in the next few days.
01:47As for the location of our weather tomorrow here in Luzon,
01:52because of the effect of the easterly, we will experience
01:55a lot of rainfall and thunderstorms in some parts of southern Luzon,
01:59particularly here in the Bicol region.
02:02We are hoping that the continuous weakening of the monsoon,
02:06so we are hoping that starting tomorrow,
02:08this will be the only area of northern Luzon that will be affected.
02:12Because of the backwardness of the monsoon,
02:14the chance of thunderstorm activity here in central and southern Luzon will increase.
02:20For now, we are hoping for fair weather conditions all day tomorrow.
02:27As for the areas of Palawan, Visayas and Nindanao,
02:31because of the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ,
02:34this is where the air flows from the northern and southern hemispheres.
02:38We are hoping that the axis of the ITCZ will rise or shift northward,
02:45because many areas of southern Mindanao will experience rainfalls.
02:50Will the rainfalls continue in most of Palawan,
02:53along the ITCZ and southern Mindanao,
02:56in the regions of Davao Region, Soxargen, Barm, and Zamboanga Peninsula?
03:01Starting tomorrow, we will experience a high chance of thunderstorms
03:05and scattered rains, landslides, and landslides.
03:08The easterlies will also experience a high chance of thunderstorms
03:12in the eastern section of Visayas.
03:14For the eastern Visayas, we are hoping for cloudy weather

04:06until early next week.
04:08By Monday, our prevailing weather system will be easterly.
04:12The weather will be hot and humid for the next few days.
04:16We do not expect the effects of the thunderstorms
04:18in any part of our country.
04:21As the thunderstorms increase,
04:23the chances of thunderstorms will also increase.
04:27So, there will be more rain showers from afternoon to night
04:30here in a large part of Luzon.
04:32For Metro Manila, Baguio City, and Legazpi City.
04:36In the area of Visayas,
04:38in the cities of Metro Cebu, Iloilo City, and Tacloban City,
04:42the prevailing weather system will be easterly
04:45from the Pacific Ocean next week.
04:50So, this hot and humid weather will continue
04:53in a large part of Visayas.
04:55We will still be exposed to rain
04:58because there are still chances of thunderstorms
05:01from afternoon to night.
05:03In the area of Mindanao, in the area of Metro Davao,
05:05Cagayan de Oro City, and Zamboanga City,
05:08we will still be exposed to rain.
05:11We expect that starting early next week,
05:15the effects of the ITCZ will be weakened.
05:18So, we will be exposed to improving weather conditions.
05:21And we expect the effects of the easterly
05:24in the mentioned areas.
