Jammu Police have arrested a man for brutally attacking his wife with a stick and an axe in the Amb Gharota area of Jammu. The accused, Sadaq Hussain, was taken into custody after his daughter-in-law, Nusrat Kousar, filed a complaint against him.
According to the complaint, Hussain, along with Nazir Ahmed, Noor Begum, and Mumtaz Bibi, assaulted his wife Noor Jahan while she was heading to the fields. She was forcibly dragged into a room and beaten. Two others, Mubarak Hussain and Saber Hussain, allegedly threatened Nusrat for reporting the crime.
Police registered FIR No. 32/2025 and launched an investigation. Based on Hussain’s disclosure, the stick and axe used in the attack were recovered. He is currently in police remand, while efforts are on to arrest the remaining accused.
A video of the assault has gone viral, showing Hussain grabbing Noor Jahan by the hair and beating her mercilessly. The incident has sparked public outrage, with police assuring strict action against all culprits.
