00:00It's great to be here today to announce our partnership with Artemis Technologies and
00:07announce the purchase of the UK's first all-electric foiling pilot vessel. Of course this demonstrates
00:14our commitment to not just safety and efficiency but also our net zero future and the first
00:19step to making pilot operations in the North Sea a clean experience. We're investing in
00:25the UK's first electric pilot vessel, the Port of Tyne, which I visited recently is
00:30charting the course to sustainable shipping. Manufactured by Artemis Technologies in Belfast,
00:36the investment will support jobs and growth whilst flying the flag for UK production.
00:41I'm delighted to be bringing the first foiling electric pilot boat to UK waters. We're partnering
00:48with the Port of Tyne in the very challenging conditions of the North Sea and the Artemis
00:54E-foiler vessel is uniquely suited to those conditions. Not only does the hydrofoiling
01:00mean that the range and daily operations is viable on battery storage alone, but maybe
01:07more importantly the ride comfort control makes it comfortable for coxswains and pilots
01:12on transfer and most importantly of all greatly increases the safety of that pilot transfer
01:18maneuver. This isn't just a great day for the Port of Tyne, it's a great day for the maritime
01:23industry and we're really proud to play our part in advancing the industry.
