Here is a rundown of some of the exciting events that we have coming up this weekend in Manchester.

00:00Well, hello and welcome to Manchester World on a very sunny day here in this magnificent

00:07Today's video is all about some of the amazing events that we have coming up this weekend

00:10right here in Manchester.

00:12There's tons and tons to get through, some amazing options, so buckle in, we'll jump

00:16straight into it.

00:17We're going to start with the Manchester Film Festival, which has been on for the whole

00:20week now at the Odeon.

00:22It's running right through till Sunday and you can expect to see screenings and some

00:26Q&As with some of the creators of brilliant small independent films and you never know,

00:30you could stumble upon your new favourite filmmaker right there.

00:33With Art Gallery, there's a new exhibition called An Edible Family in a Mobile Home.

00:38Basically there's sculptures that look like humans but are made completely of cakes and

00:41icing, biscuits, and there's a real sort of 1970s retro feel to it.

00:47And to make it all better, you're encouraged to tuck into the sculptures itself.

00:50It's open right through to April 20, so you should have a good chance to make it down.

00:55Taking on the topic of cakes, there's a Bento Cake Workshop now at a place called Vanilla

00:59Ice Cakes in Chorlton, where you get the opportunity to ice, pipe and garnish your own cake under

01:04some expert instructions.

01:06So if you do go along, please send in your pictures of what you've managed to do to yours.

01:10I'm really looking forward to trying to get down there myself.

01:12In the Northern Quarter, it's time for the Manchester Folk Festival and that's going

01:16on from Thursday right through to Sunday.

01:19It's happening, as I say, across the Northern Quarter in a number of different venues with

01:22stars such as Cara Dillon and The Deep Blue making an appearance.

01:26So there's tons of free events, so please make sure you try and get down and show some

01:30love to some of the brilliant musicians that we have here in Manchester.

01:33Finally, there's a So Retro Vintage Fair going on in Ramsbottom on Sunday with fashion, collectibles

01:39and retro-inspired crafts all available for you.
