00:00First in our news, good news, because the service that you can get from PhilHealth will not be limited because it has completely removed the limitation in the number of days that PhilHealth can provide for the hospital confinement every year.

00:22This is Joshua Garcia in the center of the news.

00:26We will add that in 2025, the number of services that PhilHealth will provide will be more, the payment that will be given to the insurance claim will be more.

00:39This is the firm promise that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. made to the Filipinos before the end of the year 2024.

00:47The President's promise is that the Filipinos can expect more services from PhilHealth.

00:52And just a few months ago, President R. Marcos Jr.'s promise was fulfilled.

00:58Aside from the increased benefit packages for various medical conditions, another important step was taken by the agency.

01:05This is the removal of their 45-day benefit limit.

01:09Under this rule, the maximum hospital confinement of their members will only reach 45 days within a year.

01:16But now, the worries of our countrymen will be lessened because their board has approved the update to the so-called policy.

01:24According to PhilHealth's Acting President and CEO, Dr. Edwin Mercado, it is time to implement reforms to the so-called cost containment strategy, which he called outdated.

01:34Mercado is adamant that no one will know or be able to schedule our medical needs.

01:40He also has many services that require more than 45 days of coverage.

01:44Additionally, PhilHealth wants the Filipinos to have chronic diseases and chronic conditions.

01:50And they need to be able to receive health services for a long time so that they don't have to worry about their financial capacity.

01:59The agency also reminds that the availability of benefits still needs to go through the right process.

02:05And it needs to comply with the patient's medical needs and treatment plan.

02:10It will also monitor the follow-up of health facilities for the clinical standards and reimbursement rules.
