00:00Morning everybody, it's DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlemagne the guy, we are the Breakfast Club,
00:05Lorna Rose is here as well, Charlemagne usually does donkey of the day here, but I didn't prepare
00:10it, it was too much going on this morning, you know what I mean, because of a young lady
00:14named Jessica Robin Moore, okay, and you need to answer the phone for your mama too, all right,
00:20yes, I'll call her later, okay, but you know we just having some family discussions up here on
00:26the radio this morning, that's all, yep, and we're taking your phone calls, hello, who's this,
00:30hey, this is Odell from the Bronx, hey, Odell from the Bronx, talk to us, what's your thoughts,
00:36yeah, I mean, Jess has a problem, I mean, Jess has a point, I'm on Jess' side because Lauren came in
00:45to fill in with her, and I love Lauren, and I love her segment and everything,
00:51but if y'all gonna add it to the show, add it to the show legitimately,
00:54if she's a producer, you're gonna keep playing the background,
01:00okay, thank you, she's not a producer though, but not anymore, but thank you,
01:03well, no, she's still the senior news producer, but she also does on air segment as well, here's
01:07the problem, what, we don't know what the hell she does, and that's what Jess is trying to say,
01:10we need the communication, that's all it is, I'm not, you know what, let me shut up,
01:15hello, who's this, what's going on, what's up, talk to us, hey, man, y'all doing a good job,
01:23right, I agree with Jess being that it wasn't clearly communicated what Lauren's role was
01:32gonna be, at the same time, y'all don't need to be having those behind-the-scenes meetings,
01:41and Jess can't let the industry disturb her, you said yourself, once it's coming on,
01:47you negotiated your pay, you got the pay you wanted, you got the job you wanted,
01:52you got the baby, you might be dealing with a little postpartum,
01:56but everything's still good, Lauren is good, that's why I got her there, right, right, right,
02:03so what's the problem, the internet, I don't know how I feel about you diagnosing people
02:09with postpartum, just go with it, but I agree with you, you gotta, everybody gotta stop listening to
02:14the comments, hello, who's this, yeah, this is Zach, man, from Brooklyn, what's going on,
02:19what's up, man, talk to us, what's your thoughts? Yeah, man, I think, you know what, with Lauren,
02:26when she came on with y'all, man, and made it more stronger, man, y'all gotta learn to work
02:30together, yeah, that's a marvelous team y'all got right there, man, y'all just gotta figure out
02:35this segment, let Jess do the best, let Lauren do the news portion of it, and y'all just rock on,
02:42man, okay, man, don't let that shit get to you, y'all doing a great job, I love y'all,
02:48I listen to y'all every day. Thank you, brother, and see, this is why I like the radio, because
02:52unlike the comments, you know it's real people, you know, going to work every day, and they gonna
02:57tell you the truth, these ain't these people in the comments that just want to troll you,
03:01and you know, it could be botched, like, these are real people, and they love y'all, that's right,
03:05they love what you do, Jess, they like Lauren, they learning to love Lauren too, so it's all good,
03:11and I do wonder, just a little bit, this is my personal opinion,
03:15Lauren comes in here with a lot of different wigs, do you feel like you can't ever, like,
03:17connect with her, because it's like talking to a different person every single time,
03:20maybe she can't reach the hairline that is not existent over there,
03:22I'm just asking a question, Lauren, okay, Jess, what, it's not Lauren's wigs, okay, I'm just
03:29asking, I just want to know, okay, okay, I connect with Lauren anyway, okay, okay, anywhere, any wig,
03:34like, stop playing, all right, hello, who's this, hi, hello, what's your name, mama,
03:42hello, what's your name, mama, my name is Keith, your phone sounds so crazy, can you take us off
03:49Bluetooth or speak or whatever you got us on, can you hear me, I can hear you now, good morning,
03:54yes, this is Keith calling from Atlanta, hey, good morning, what's your thoughts,
03:59okay, so first of all, I only started back listening to the show because of Jess,
04:03congratulations on your baby, Jess, thank you, baby, from the get-go, yes, the whole situation
04:11has been awkward, y'all not gonna sit up here and play Jess, like, she didn't come back from
04:15maternity leave and have somebody in her seat that just would not get up or y'all didn't even
04:21address the situation, like, okay, we got somebody new we're gonna introduce on top of Jess, she came
04:26back and the girl never left, how's she supposed to feel? Well, you don't know the whole story,
04:31tell her, you want to fill in some blanks, Jess? Do I want to fill in blanks? Well, no, I was
04:36gonna say, number one, Jess picked Lauren, when I'm on maternity leave, I want Lauren, and then,
04:42you know, like, but even when I say that, it's like, I don't want it to come off like, oh, the
04:49only reason that she's even, you know, you know what I'm saying, like, I just don't want to seem
04:54like I'm being, but you did make a choice, and also, I did, but you know, it just, it was just weird,
05:01you know what I'm saying, how when I came back, like this young lady just said, when I came back,
05:05it was just like, all right, if she's expected to be the fourth host, or whatever, yo, let's bring
05:12her in, or let's create her own segment, that's legitimately do it, let's, let's officiate it,
05:16you feel me, like, why is it only when I gotta talk, or when I, you know, on my segment, and
05:22things like that, you know, it could have been done a whole nother way, it could have been bought
05:25to me while I was even on maternity leave, that we, that we wanted to bring her in permanently,
05:31to be on the show, and not just a producer. I don't think, I don't think we, I don't know,
05:35I don't think we even came to that conclusion. She wasn't supposed to be the fourth host,
05:39she was, she was supposed to be a producer. From the time y'all auditioned,
05:42we, Jess was going to be the host, Lauren was going to be the senior news producer. Yes. That
05:46was always the plan, you know, when you came back from maternity leave, and Lauren was here,
05:50the senior news producer, when you started to bring her in to do some of the litigious, litigious
05:55stuff. Yeah, the court, the court things, yes. I thought the segment was just evolving naturally,
06:00like, I thought y'all were having those conversations, y'all was putting that together,
06:04I didn't know it was an issue. But in real time, are you realizing that, like, there
06:08possibly, not possibly, but there should have been some more guidelines laid out,
06:11like, structured stuff? Yeah, once everybody figured out exactly what it is they wanted to do.
06:15Yeah, but I think even if, like, because for me, as the person that, like, I'm watching all this
06:21in real time, I know Jess feels a way, I don't know what's happening either. I was also like,
06:27okay, what's happening, but I was just going with the flow. But I felt like going with the flow
06:31made, it kind of like, was like, like, like, when you got a bruise, and you keep touching it,
06:35so it's like, you, it's hurting more. And then we just not talking about it. But like,
06:39I didn't know what else to do, because we ain't talking about it, and we figuring it out.
06:43And when I realized you didn't know what was going on either, because we had a conversation,
06:47that's when I told you, all right, yo, my anger is misplaced. Like, I'm mad at her when I shouldn't
06:52be mad at her. Like, and it was made to look like that from the jump. And it was just like,
06:59it was no coming back from even when I, like, being started being cool with it. Like,
07:04are you know what, no, she, you know, and she's, she's helpful. And she helps with questions,
07:08with interviews, and all of that helps conduct the, like, the news and the details and stuff.
07:13I'm like, all right, but it's still no communication. Now I'm just cool with it,
07:17but we still don't know what's going on. So it's just, it's just weird isn't being in a
07:22weird space with it. Well, how do we resolve this? Because we got to get it to AJ and Tressa.
07:28I think we figuring it out in real time. You know what I'm saying? But I do want Jess and
07:31Lauren to know that I think when it comes to that latest with Lauren segment, they can work together.
07:35And Jess, you know, you are the third co-host for the breakfast on the Breakfast Club for a reason.
07:39And we are going to continue to restructure this show. And you know, turn this show and what it
07:44needs to be so you can really get your stuff. And you know, we've had these conversations.
07:50I think that was part of the meetings that we've been having behind the scenes that we've been
07:53talking about and making sure that everybody feels comfortable. Everybody's seen, everybody's heard.
07:57That's what I think part of those conversations were. And I think, and I think y'all both got
08:01scrims, you know, like what Jess does, Lauren don't do, what Lauren does, Jess don't do. And
08:06I think that compliments, you know, I think y'all compliment each other very, very, very,
08:10very well. And I think both of y'all can have so much success on this show, but we got to stop
08:15letting the internet dictate how we move. Cannot listen to the comments, cannot listen to these
08:21people on YouTube creating these narratives because they're going to pit y'all against each
08:26other every chance they get until they can't no more. But I told that to Jess and I told that to
08:30Lauren and I tell that to anybody up here. They try to pit me and Charlamagne against each other
08:34a million and one times. They will try. Yeah. Yeah. You just hunt me more, but they try as
08:40much as possible, but they will try. They will try to pit y'all two against each other. They'll try
08:44to pit me and you against each other, Jess. They'll try to put Jess and Charlamagne. That's what the
08:48internet does. Half the time, I don't even think it's a face, but we can't let those people online
08:52dictate what we do. Like F those people. Like we got to really just open our arms to the people
08:58that support us, that love us, that love listening to us, that enjoy, that know the show. The rest of
09:02these people just going to poke just for that. That's why I love having this conversation today
09:05on the radio. And in a way what Jess did last night, I get it. And now all the awkwardness is
09:10gone. It's all out in the open. It's all out on French street. You can't use that against us,
09:15though. All right. Check out video of the full show on Tubi free classic and abusing more on
