00:00Steady demand from international and domestic actors marked day two of the Arcana Vendélevage
00:16in a solid market with 83% of the lots changing hands.
00:22For the second day in a row, the top-priced foal came from Arras-de-Montaigu.
00:26At 400, a son of the ever-popular Zaraq was knocked down for 190,000 euros.
00:33My client is a very stubborn man when he decides that he wants a horse and we liked the foal.
00:40We liked the Zaraq, of course.
00:43We thought there was a lot of Dubawi in this horse also.
00:47The page is nice, Zaraq on the Sea of Stars should do the job.
00:51We also liked the fact that there is some linamics further down in the blood.
00:55So, no, happy days, that was a very happy purchase.
00:58Partners who fell one bit short from buying Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Alcantor
01:04succeeded in securing his half-sister by Valgeist.
01:09The price tag for lot 396, a foal offered by Arras-du-Hoguenet, was 115,000 euros.
01:16We were under-bidder on Alcantor, together with John, and so we think we're going to
01:24either pin-hook her or race her, because she has very good fundamentals, she's a very good
01:30mover and Alcantor is obviously a very good horse, so we're going to try to take the best
01:36out of her.
01:37We like doing partnerships, we think we're good partners for people and it's been very
01:42successful for us, in fact, and it allows us to spread the risk over a larger number
01:47of horses.
01:48We know that the mare is a proven mare, so she's bred some good horses, won by our other
01:53stallion New Bay, so we expect Alcantor to win a Group 1 next year, so she's a very nice
02:00filly to go forward with.
02:01A colt from the first cop of St. Mark's Basilica, lot 315, brought 110,000 euros.
02:08The foal was acquired for an Irish pin-hooking endeavour.
02:12We just loved the colt from the second he walked out of the box, he had a lovely demeanour,
02:17a great walk, just had plenty of scope and we've seen a lot of his, of the Sires foals
02:24in Newmarket and Goffs, and we've liked his stock and we're very excited by the stallion
02:29and we were hopeful coming into the ring that we'd be able to get him.
02:33Lot 521 is California-bound, American-Asian Bob Feld bought Marelie, a three-year-old
02:38filly and recent handicap winner in Deauville, for 150,000 euros.
02:44Well you know what, my son came here last year and bought a weanling to pin-hook a SotSas,
02:50we decided to race him, he's in Florida right now being broken, and he told me, he goes
02:54you gotta come to Deauville, so I said count me in.
02:58So we landed this filly early on in the sale and she just has an amazing frame and her
03:04win last week was pretty impressive, I mean a three-year-old filly being older boys, and
03:12I just, I told the airmen, I said this is a very nice filly, I think has a lot of upside,
03:17she's just getting good right now, I don't think we, way overpaid, I think it was a fair
03:22mark of value.
03:23Lot 477, Royal Grey, a two-year-old listed winner in Italy, will head to Chantilly to
03:29pursue her career.
03:30The daughter of Havana Grey was sold to a new partnership for 135,000 euros.
03:36It's a partnership between a client from Nicolas Clément and Ballet L'Institut, she's going
03:43to be trained by Nicolas Clément, she's a very nice filly with good form, she's, well
03:48you know the stallion, I don't need to make any introduction to the stallion, so we'll
03:52give her a break of a month and then she will go back in training, and hopefully take a
03:57listed win in France.
03:59Marc-Antoine Bergracht was also involved in the purchase of Lot 331, Tevara, a 15-year-old
04:05black-tie producing mare, in foal to Victor Lutterum.
