00:00Since her husband's death due to COVID-19 in 2021, Jamilah Salih, 72, has been completely dependent on her five children.

00:11During her marriage, Jamilah has never worked and has only been a housewife full-time,

00:17causing her to lose her place of dependence after her husband's death.

00:21My daughter lives here, so I live with her.

00:25All of my children have families, right?

00:27All of them are in school.

00:29I also have children to help.

00:32So, I don't really expect much.

00:36Since last year, Jamilah, who has been staying at the Batu Muda Household Project since 2006,

00:41has been chosen to receive a monthly donation of RM100 for 12 months,

00:46which allows her to buy daily necessities, as well as to help alleviate her child's burden.

01:08Jamilah, who also received help from Baytulmal, said

01:12her monthly spending has increased a little

01:14when she was diagnosed with breast cancer last June,

01:17which required her to return to the hospital.

01:21I had high blood pressure.

01:23But recently, I had breast cancer.

01:27That's the latest.

01:29The doctor told me to go to the hospital.

01:31When I went to the hospital, it was normal.

01:33He checked everything.

01:34He said there was a little cancer.

01:36So, I had to throw it away.

01:38SARA is a continuation program to the Tunai Rahmah Donation Initiative

01:42and is run through MyCard.

01:45Starting this April,

01:46recipients will receive RM200 per month

01:49compared to RM100 previously,

01:51making the amount of assistance increase to RM2,100 per year

01:55compared to RM1,200 per year.

01:59The increase is the result of an increase in the 2025 spending

02:03for STR and SARA,

02:05which is RM13 billion compared to RM10 billion last year.

02:10Jamilah is relieved when there are more people

02:12participating in the program

02:14as well as giving SARA's recipients more options
