00:00They released their statement regarding the recent refusal of Solicitor General Menardo Guevara to defend the government officials in the Habeas Corpus of the Duterte camp.

00:12While Attorney Harry Roque requested asylum, the government did not see any problem.

00:18Evidence against Roque's connection to illegal smuggling was minimized.

00:22Details of the news were reported by Kenneth Paciente of PTV.

00:26We haven't talked about it yet because it's really new. It just came out last night.

00:33But maybe it's better if Soljen himself assesses himself if he should be appointed as Solicitor General.

00:42That's the reason why I asked if it's possible to remove Solicitor General Menardo Guevara from his position.

00:50This is after the OSG refused to remove some government officials as well as the petition for rid of Habeas Corpus of the children of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

01:00But if it's Guevara, he has already asked the President to approve the decision if he will remain in his position.

01:06He also defended that there is no conflict of interest in his decision that is not personal but institutional.

01:12The palace also clarified that the OSG is just defending that there is no jurisdiction of the ICC in the country.

01:18The former President's camp clearly stated that the OSG believes that the government did a wrong thing in the Interpol to submit Duterte to the ICC.

01:28The palace also did not see any problem in the actions of the former Presidential Spokesperson Attorney Harry Roque,

01:34who requested an asylum in Dahig while the investigation against Duterte is ongoing.

01:39He said that this will not affect the case that Roque is facing in the Philippines.

01:44In order to ask for political asylum, Roque should prove the political persecution in the cases filed against him.

01:51This is something that will happen soon because according to the palace, the evidence that will support Roque in his connection to the illegal POGO operations is strong.

02:00These documents were found by Attorney Harry Roque in Lucky South 99.

02:07They also found documents of his assistant, AR de la Serna, in Lucky South 99.

02:15Third, there is also a document referring to a contract of lease with a certain manager, alleged manager of Lucky South 99.
