00:00The Department of Public Works and Highways, or DPWH, built a new house for the students of Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija.

00:15The students of Calagundian Elementary School in Cabanatuan are now safer
00:22after the Department of Public Works and Highways, or DPWH, built a 437-square-meter house with two floors and four floors.
00:34According to DPWH Nueva Ecija's 2nd District Engineer Robert J. Panaligan,
00:39the school is often flooded even in bad weather, resulting in a gap in the class and damage to the learning materials of the students.
00:49He explained that in order to address this problem, they built a new house with a higher foundation of one meter
00:57so that the classrooms would not be flooded and the learning space would be safer and more durable.
01:03Meanwhile, the head of the school, Gurly Sapdal, expressed his gratitude for the new facility
01:10and assured that the proper facilities will provide the students with a comfortable and safe place to focus on their studies.
01:21This project, worth Php 14.7 million,
01:25which was funded by the Basic Educational Facilities Fund of the Department of Education,
01:31is strengthening and supporting the campaign to provide quality education in a safe environment.
