00:00The security of the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange is still tight, even though the number of passengers is still small compared to before Christmas.
00:09And until now, there are still a lot of people who are not allowed to use fishing nets.
00:14This is what Patrick de Jesus reported.
00:18The inspection of the luggage of the passengers entering the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange or PITX is very strict.
00:27If the luggage is large and sealed, a metal scanner is used.
00:31Aside from passing through the metal detector, the security guards are also inspecting the luggage of the passengers here in the PITX.
00:40And as of now, one of the losses that is prohibited to bring here in the terminal is fishing.
00:48Aside from the explosives that are also prohibited in the PITX, there are also those that carry butane gas.
00:53As of December 20, more than 600 things are prohibited to fish in the PITX.
00:59Twenty-four of these will explode, while the largest number of things to fish is a lighter weighing more than 200.
01:06Even a knife weighing more than 100.
01:08There is also an LPG tank and other types of guns.
01:12Passengers are advised not to bring prohibited items and to ensure the safety and security of each one.
01:23The deployment of 20 police officers from the Paranaque City Police Station and Southern Police District, where the Police Assistance Desk is located, is a hindrance in maintaining security in the PITX.
01:37Some passengers were able to make it home to their province for the new year celebration.
01:43Some were not able to travel that weekend.
01:45That is why they postponed this day, which is Rizal Day and Holiday.
01:50Like Jemima, she was able to make it home to Sur Sugon.
01:53Why were you not able to travel that weekend?
01:58There was a lot of traffic in Parting, Ragay, and Camsur.
02:04But now, it's okay.
02:06What are your plans for the new year celebration in Sur Sugon?
02:11Of course, I want to be with my family in this upcoming new year.
02:17In terms of ticket, were you not having a hard time?
02:20No.
02:21What about online booking? Did you buy it here?
02:22Yes, here.
02:23If we compare it to before Christmas, the number of passengers in the PITX is less now.
02:29The peak was reached on December 23, where the number of passengers reached more than 232,000.
02:37The number increased slightly on December 26, but it decreased again on December 27.
02:44And last weekend, the number of 173,000 and 167,000 passengers played a role.
02:51The lower number is due to the number of people who went home to their province for Christmas.
02:57According to the PITX, passengers are expected to return after the new year, from January 3 to 6.
03:07And these are those who returned to Metro Manila after vacationing in their province.
03:13Patrick De Jesus for Pabansan TV in Bagong, Philippines.
