00:00Only at iHeartRadio Awards can we walk into Legends Like You. How's it going tonight, man?
00:04Great. Going fantastic.
00:06And are you working on anything new? I just wanted to ask.
00:08I do have a new single out, Still Dancing, and I've got an album coming out on April 25th.
00:14The tour's starting April 29th, so it's going to be a bumpy year.
00:17It's a busy year. And I mean, for your fans that have been here for you for so long,
00:21what new are you offering them as the new Billy?
00:25Well, I think what we try to do is really do an album that is consistently fresh all the way through.
00:31I don't think there's a bad track on it.
00:33That's pretty wild being able to say that. I don't know. That's how I feel about it.
00:37I think it's a really good record. Probably one of my best.
00:40Okay.
00:41Which is pretty fantastic at this stage of my life.
00:43You're like, I've still got it. I'm still doing good.
00:45And I mean, to be at a show like this, there's so much new talent here, so many artists.
00:49Or is there anybody young that hasn't been inspiring you that you have your eye on?
00:53I think there's some great female artists at the moment, Chapel Roan and stuff.
00:58So it's exciting watching young people being excited and pushing the music along.
01:03And that's kind of what we did and what we're still doing, so it's fun.
01:06And then you bring up somebody like Chapel.
01:08What do you feel about genre switching?
01:10How like her and Beyonce are dropping country albums.
01:12What do you feel about popping around the different genres?
01:15We grew up with people who did eclectic albums.
01:19For instance, the Beatles would do country music or they'd do heavy rock or whatever.
01:24A lot of the people we grew up with, very eclectic records.
01:27And so they went all over the map.
01:29So we were used to that.
01:30We were used to people suddenly doing different sort of genres, really.
01:36We were always ready for that.
