00:00The Department of Health continues to call for vaccination of children against so-called vaccine-preventable diseases such as TIGDAS.

00:09According to the DOH, the number of these cases has increased since the first part of 2025.

00:54The Department of Health reminded the public of the continued increase in the number of TIGDAS cases.

01:00According to the DOH, the number of cases of measles and rubella from January to March 1 of this year has reached more than 100,000.

01:10It has increased by more than 30% compared to the same period last year.

01:17Four weeks ago, the Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Soxargene regions saw a continuous increase in the number of cases.

01:30These complications can be avoided if the children are vaccinated against TIGDAS.

01:36The vaccination of measles, mumps, and rubella for children aged 9 to 12 months in health centers is ongoing.

01:45It is important to be able to complete two vaccines against TIGDAS.

01:49That is why the DOH is urging parents to go to the nearest health center to schedule a vaccination in their area.

01:58More than 600 or 68% of the cases are not yet vaccinated or have not completed the vaccination against TIGDAS.

02:07TIGDAS is an infectious disease that can spread by coughing or breathing.

02:14If not taken early, it can lead to complications such as pneumonia,

02:19brain infection that can also lead to fever in children aged 5 years and below.

02:26Catch-up immunization will be held in some regions of the country this month.

02:31Although it is a contagious disease, the spread of TIGDAS by vaccination will be stopped
