When Baloo learns that all that Molly wants for Christmas is for it to snow for her mom, he takes Kit and Rebecca on a mission to make Molly's wish come true.
As the Higher for Hire crew prepares for Christmas, Rebecca wistfully recalls the snowy weather of her childhood. Unfortunately, Cape Suzette’s climate doesn’t offer much chance for snow. Molly, eager to see Rebecca happy, decides to write a letter to Santa. While asking Baloo and Kit for help, the last of her candy canes breaks. Baloo encourages her to stick a broken piece under her pillow, claiming that the “Peppermint Fairy” will bring her a whole one.
The next day, Rebecca leaves on an errand and tasks Baloo with loading up a cargo of soap flakes. Baloo belatedly remembers what he told Molly, and is caught trying to sneak a candy cane under her pillow. In an effort to appease the cub, Baloo offers to fly her to the North Pole so she can deliver her letter to Santa in person. Despite Kit’s protests, Baloo takes him and Molly aboard the Sea Duck, leaving behind both the soap flakes and a disappointed Wildcat.
The three bears soon arrive at the “North Pole”-in reality Louie’s-and are brought to meet “Santa”-Louie in a costume at Baloo’s request. Unfortunately, the ruse takes a turn when the older animals learn that the one thing Molly wants for Christmas is for it to snow for her mom. Thinking quickly, Baloo decides to leave Molly with “Santa” and return to Cape Suzette. He intends to pick up the soap flakes and use them to simulate a snowfall for Molly.
Meanwhile, the Air Pirates are preparing for a rather morose Christmas, as they never get any presents due to their criminal behavior. Don Karnage, fed up with his crew’s glumness, decides that the pirates will celebrate in their own fashion-pillaging and plundering. Louie and his staff, meanwhile, try to keep Mollie entertained as they await the “snow.” Unfortunately, some of Louie’s regulars, intending to spend Christmas at his business as usual, begin trying to get in.
Arriving back at Higher for Hire, Baloo and Kit find an irate Rebecca waiting for them. However, upon hearing the full story, she agrees to go along with the plan. On their way to Louie’s, however, they run into a storm and the Air Pirates. They are able to defeat the marauders, but lose the supply of soap flakes in the process.
Louie’s customers break down his door, and the orangutan’s ruse is exposed. Feeling betrayed, Molly runs to a nearby cliff top and throws herself to the ground, sobbing. Her letter blows away in the wind and is carried high into the sky. Some time later, Molly’s mother and friends come looking for her.
Looking up, Molly sees something that fills her with wonder. The others then find her, and to their astonishment it begins to snow.
