00:00FPL Blank Game Week 29 Final Team Selection Decisions.
00:04In today's video, we're going to have a look at hopefully everything you need to know
00:07going into the upcoming Blank Game Week.
00:09We'll look at best players to buy.
00:10We'll discuss who is potentially worth the minus four.
00:13Should you free hit or should you wildcard?
00:15And we'll have a look at drafts for both of those.
00:17We'll have an update on my thinking.
00:19Am I going to buy Haarlem?
00:20What is my future transfer plans?
00:21And potential chip strategy as well.
00:23All in this Final Decisions for Game Week 29.
00:31What is up everyone?
00:34FPL Harry here.
00:35Before we dive in, 2,000 likes is the aim.
00:37Subscribe if you are new around here as well.
00:39The Blank Game Week is finally here and it feels like one of the most confusing game
00:43weeks of FPL we have had in a very, very long time.
00:47It's so difficult to decide.
00:49Is Haarlem worth it?
00:50Is he not?
00:51My thinking has been all over the place this week.
00:53But hopefully this video is going to provide a little bit of clarity.
00:56We'll have rankings of players to buy.
00:58If you're on wildcard or you're on free hit.
00:59We'll have a look at drafts for you for both of those chips.
01:03So we're going to dive in and discuss some of the big questions of the week.
01:06The big one really is Erling Haarlem and how I compare him to the likes of Chris Wood
01:11and Evan Nielsen as well.
01:12The first thing to ask yourself is A, would you be captaining Erling Haarlem this week?
01:16And would you captain him in Game Week 30 as well?
01:19Game Week 30, Haarlem has Leicester at home or has Salah has Everton at home?
01:23If you answer yes, you think you'll captain him both weeks or at least one of the two weeks.
01:27I think it probably is worthwhile trying to find a way to go and buy him.
01:31If you're unsure if he's the best captain this week
01:33and you think you'd still captain Salah in Game Week 30,
01:35I think the need for you to go and buy him is definitely lower.
01:39Then you add in the fact that if you can do it for free or a minus four as well.
01:42If it looks like it's going to cost additional minus fours to go and buy Haarlem
01:45and then you're not going to captain him.
01:47I don't think it's worth it at all.
01:49I like Evan Nielsen at 5.6.
01:51I think he offers incredible value with the next two features that Bournemouth have at home to Brentford
01:55and at home to Ipswich in Game Week 30 as well.
01:58Chris Wilders, of course, a very nice buy and a very easy and obvious buy if you don't own him as well.
02:03Haarlem is not essential.
02:05I do not think he's good value,
02:07but he has the ability over the next two weeks to be the highest scoring player
02:10and as a result a very good cap and see option.
02:12So I've sat a little bit on the fence there.
02:15It is very team dependent.
02:17If you're going to do it for a hit,
02:18I would expect that you would need to captain him definitely this week
02:21and maybe in Game Week 30 as well.
02:23If you're doing it for free,
02:24I would still expect you to captain him this week at least
02:27and then not be massive surgery on the rest of your team.
02:30Next up is I'm being asked a lot.
02:32Why not just free hitting Game Week 29, Harry?
02:34So the big reason for that is Game Week 32 to 33 and 34 are likely to be a lot more difficult to navigate
02:42than Game Week 29 is.
02:43Now, yes, you might not have a full 11 out,
02:45but a lot of those issues you have in your team,
02:47if it's like a Trent who looks like he might be out for a while,
02:50if you've got a Mateusz Kunia,
02:52Mateusz looks like he's going to be okay now,
02:54but a lot of these players will still be issues in Game Week 30.
02:57So actually a free hit doesn't massively sort it
03:00and actually using transfers,
03:02maybe a minus four probably benefits you quite well
03:04because a lot of the players you're buying this week,
03:06you'd be owning on a free hit,
03:07have a good fixture in Game Week 30 as well, right?
03:10So if you're buying Bournemouth this week,
03:11what are you not going to own those players for Ipswich at home in Game Week 30?
03:14If you're buying Manchester City,
03:15you're not going to own them for Leicester at home in Game Week 30.
03:18So generally, I think that you are much better place to play your wild card
03:22in about Game Week 31 and then use the free hit in Game Week 33 or 34
03:27and not play your free hit this week unless your team is set up
03:30with lots of good Palace and Newcastle players,
03:32Liverpool that you can free hit out this week
03:34or it just fits your squad well.
03:36Next up is what would I do with Dan Guattaro?
03:38Would I sell him for a minus four?
03:40If you can sell him for free,
03:41I probably would look to do that
03:42and we'll talk about some midfielders to buy,
03:44but in terms of selling him for a minus four,
03:46I think probably only Bruno Fernandes if you can afford him
03:49or maybe a Jared Bowen.
03:50Most of you won't be able to afford that with money in the bank.
03:53In and around that price,
03:54the only player I think I'd take a minus four to sell Dango for is probably Kluivert.
03:59Now, you do have the average caveat of what you need in Game Week 30 as well.
04:03So for example, if you do Dango to Semenya for a minus four,
04:06you're probably going to get two starts out of Semenya
04:08and you might not get any starts out of Dan Guattaro.
04:11So then it becomes pretty close,
04:13but bearing in mind just Game Week 29 alone,
04:15I don't think I'd sell him for a minus four to anyone
04:17that isn't maybe the expensive midfielders or Kluivert in and around his price.
04:22Having a bit of injury news,
04:23then Trent is out for the cup final
04:25and it sounds like he probably won't play in Game Week 30 after the international break.
04:29The statements that are being said is we do expect him back by the end of the season.
04:33Now that doesn't bode well that he's likely to be back this month.
04:37They are saying that scans and tests are still going on.
04:39So we don't really know at the moment,
04:40but it doesn't bode well.
04:42He is probably a sell for most of us this week.
04:44He's a great option to go and get a defender in like a Kyrkes,
04:48a Gavardiol or someone else
04:49and it frees up a lot of money to buy an Erling Haaland potentially into your team.
04:53I think he's a sell for most of us.
04:55Next up is Semenya.
04:56We did see him limp off at the end of the fixturing Game Week 28,
04:59but he's just cramped and he is cleared to play this week.
05:02And the final one is maybe a player you have on your bench is Vandenberg of Brentford.
05:06He has been cleared and he said he will be involved in the squad
05:10and maybe even in the team against Bournemouth.
05:12I'd be surprised if he's thrown back in to start the game,
05:14but he was a starter before that.
05:16So maybe he does.
05:17I reckon they give him until after the international break though.
05:21Next up is the big debate on captaincy.
05:23So we've got the top five options.
05:25I think in order in Haaland, Fernandes, Criswood, Kluivert,
05:27and then I've gone with Raul Jimenez going up against a Spurs team
05:31who will be pretty tired after the game they had on Thursday evening.
05:35In terms of projected goals, it's pretty close.
05:37Manchester City and Bournemouth are actually predicted to score the most.
05:41Then you've got sort of Fulham,
05:42you've got Nottingham Forest and Man Utd coming in quite close behind that.
05:46Haaland is predicted to score the most goals this game week,
05:48although he's not actually that far ahead
05:50comparing to some of the others that we've got.
05:52He's predicted to score six and a half points,
05:54Fernandes five and a half, Wood just under five,
05:57Kluivert just over five, and Jimenez just over four.
06:00In terms of captaincy polls, Haaland is likely to be the most captain player,
06:04but I expect Criswood to be the most owned player
06:06because his base ownership is really high.
06:09He's probably the only player who's going to break
06:10that 100% ownership mark.
06:12He probably will hit about 120,
06:14whereas I expect Erling Haaland to hit maybe 70%
06:17based on how many people we expect to buy him this week.
06:21I do think if you are buying Erling Haaland this week,
06:23he is probably the best captaincy option.
06:25Criswood is definitely the safest.
06:27I do actually prefer Bruno Fernandes
06:28after his hat-trick in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
06:31Kluivert, I do rank just below Criswood.
06:34So Haaland, Fernandes, Wood, Kluivert is my top four
06:36and Jimenez as a potential differential.
06:39Next up is having a look at players to buy.
06:41So if you're looking for a goalkeeper,
06:42number one is I'd go with Sells of Nottingham Forest,
06:45then I'd go Kepa.
06:46And then if you need a cheaper option,
06:47it's probably Jose Sarr over going with Arreola of West Ham
06:51just because of the fixture that they both have
06:53in game week 30 after the blank.
06:55Into defence, Kerkes is my favourite followed by Gavardia.
06:58A lot of squads don't really have the money to go with Gavardia.
07:00I don't mind them as a punt.
07:02I probably would go with Kerkes though
07:04if you have a spare Bournemouth spot.
07:06Then after that, we've got the Nottingham Forest defence.
07:08You could go Murillo, you could go Oloraino,
07:10you could go Milenkovic, you could go Williams.
07:12I've gone with Milenkovic for his goal threat
07:14and then Williams just below that
07:15because he's nice and cheap in and around just 4.4 million.
07:18Below that, we've got Ait Nori going up against Southampton.
07:21He is a bit of a troll, so I have ranked the others
07:23who feel like a little bit more reliable
07:25than the Wolves defence over going with Ait Nori.
07:27And if you need a really cheap option at 3.9,
07:30I probably would be going with Cresswell of West Ham.
07:33Into midfield, Kluivert is number one,
07:35followed by Bruno Fernandes and followed by Bowen,
07:37partly because of the fix that they all have in game week 30.
07:40Means I do think that Kluivert is a better buy
07:42than Fernandes and than Bowen this week.
07:45Then once you get slightly cheaper, I like Semenya.
07:47I probably would just go Alanga over Gibbs White.
07:49Don't think there's that much between all three
07:51of those Nottingham Forest midfielders.
07:53I think I just prefer Alanga now.
07:55And then a bit of a punt, you could look at the Wolves midfielders,
07:57Bellegarde, Southampton away.
07:59Then you can probably bench them in game week 30.
08:01They have a good feature in game week 34,
08:03which could help you cover the next blank with Leicester at home.
08:05He's a bit of a punt, probably the most reliable there
08:07for minutes and you could also have a look at the likes of Minte.
08:10You could have a likes of Suchek, the likes of Dibbling,
08:12but around that bracket below 6 million,
08:15you're basically taking a punt and hoping that you pick the one that pays off.
08:19Into the forward line, Harland is number one,
08:21Criswood is number two, then I've gone with Evan Nielsen
08:23and probably these are the three forwards you should be looking to have.
08:26If you need a cheaper option, it would be better.
08:28I probably would go Criswood over Evan Nielsen.
08:30Although if you are chasing rank, Evan Nielsen could offer
08:33a really good differential over going Criswood this week.
08:35And then just as a little bit of a reminder,
08:37here is the fixture ticker for just the next two game weeks.
08:39So if you are looking at that wildcard in game week 31,
08:42looking at the players and the teams that you should potentially looking to target,
08:45Wolves are top, you've got Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest,
08:47Manchester City, West Ham and Southampton in theory,
08:50and Manchester United with the best fixtures over the next two weeks.
08:53It's really difficult to buy Chelsea, Fulham,
08:56even the likes of Everton and Brentford as well,
08:59don't have the best fixtures over the next two game weeks.
09:02Looking at projections from Rob T. FPL,
09:04then so we have Manchester City and Bournemouth,
09:06the only two teams projected to score over two goals,
09:09but you also do have Arsenal, Fulham and Manchester United,
09:11along with Nottingham Forest and Wolves, close to getting in that number.
09:15Clean sheets are really difficult to predict this week.
09:17You've got Arsenal and Everton hitting 36%,
09:19Man Utd in at 32% and Nottingham Forest in at 31%,
09:23but no defence hitting that magical 40% clean sheet mark.
09:27That is what we aim for, for a decent banker of a clean sheet.
09:31In terms of the assistant manager, if you do have that chip active,
09:34there's a really difficult pool of managers to pick from.
09:36We actually have Kieran McKenna and Ruud van Nistelrooy,
09:39both with table bonus fixtures this week as the highest predicted fixtures,
09:44but I don't particularly like it.
09:45I definitely wouldn't be picking McKenna.
09:47I probably would go Ruud van Nistelrooy at home to Manchester United
09:49if I had to pick a table bonus manager,
09:52but I probably would be going with something that feels like a more sure win,
09:55like a Ruben Amir in a way at Leicester.
09:57It doesn't feel like a good week for assistant manager,
09:59and I definitely would not be activating the chip this week
10:02if you still have it available.
10:04If you've got it active, I'd look at who you'd want it on in game week 30
10:07and maybe just go with the same manager so you don't have to use a transfer.
10:11If it's your final week, I probably would punt on Ruud van Nistelrooy.
10:15Having a look at some drafts, we're going to start off with a free hit,
10:17which is slightly different to what we saw earlier on in the week.
10:20Jose Sarri is in goal. We've stuck with Govardi or Kerkes.
10:23I've gone with Ole Raina, but it could be any Forrest defender,
10:26and if you can't afford Ole Raina,
10:27just go down to someone like a Milenkovic or a Williams as well.
10:31Into midfield, we've gone with Kluivert, Fernandes,
10:33Umbermo, and Gibbs-White.
10:34Again, if you can't afford this, just go Alanga over Gibbs-White.
10:37I think they're really close.
10:38If I was buying one into my team, I think I would go Alanga,
10:41but if I was on a free hit, I'd probably have the luxury of having the money
10:44to go with Gibbs-White.
10:45I don't like Brian Umbermo that much on a free hit.
10:47I think that spot is really good for a one-week punt.
10:50You could go with someone like a Munetzi.
10:52You could go with a Jared Bowen.
10:54There are lots of picks. You could even go with a Foden or a Savino in there.
10:57So I do urge you, with those final to midfield spots,
10:59to potentially take some punts if you are chasing rank this week.
11:03Into the forward line, I've gone with Haaland, Chris Wood, and Evan Ilson,
11:06which feels pretty set.
11:07Looking at a few other options that almost made it,
11:09I almost went with Jordan Pickford in goal.
11:11Any midfielder could go in over Brian Umbermo.
11:13Munetzi is one. You could also have a look at Bellegarde in there as well.
11:17Ryan Aignori is a cheaper option if you want that,
11:19but we've got Jose Sara in here, so you're probably not going there.
11:22And then Masrari, if you want more Manchester United going away to Leicester this week.
11:26So, wildcard this week.
11:28I actually think I would play with 10 players if you're on wildcard this week.
11:31If you have loads of transfers available,
11:33you could have someone else instead of Sarr, for example,
11:36like an Alanga, and then use a transfer next week to do Alanga to Sarr.
11:40If you don't have a lot of transfers available,
11:42I don't think there's anything wrong with just playing with a very decent 10-man squad this week.
11:47In goal, we're going with Sells, and we're actually doubling up with Williams in the defence.
11:50Cresswell is the cheap option we've got, along with Gabriel.
11:53If you've got loads of team value and you want to go with Gabriel over Cresswell, that's fine,
11:58but most of you probably won't be able to afford it.
12:00It does mean that we've got Livermento and Munoz on the bench,
12:03ready for their double that they've got coming up in Game Week 32 as well.
12:06Into midfield, we have doubled up with Kluivert and Semenya.
12:09Palmer keeps his place, as does Salah with the blank.
12:12He's the one, in theory, in the starting 11 who doesn't have a fixture,
12:14and Ismaila Sarr is ready for Game Week 30.
12:18Southampton and the nice run of fixtures and the double they have in Game Week 32.
12:22Again, if you've got loads of transfers available,
12:25you could go with someone like Nalanga or a one-week punt over Sarr,
12:28and then make the transfer in Game Week 30.
12:31Forward line, as it is on the free hit, is Harland, Chris Wood and Evan Ilson.
12:34You'll probably be looking to sell two of those to go to Alexandre, Isak and Mateta over the next couple of Game Weeks.
12:41Kempsey would probably be on Erling Harland, Wood with the vice-captain,
12:44Livermento, Munoz and Sarr as the three non-playing on the bench,
12:48and Salah in the starting line-up.
12:49In terms of future chip strats, you could bench-boost in either Game Week 30 or Game Week 32.
12:54If you still have the triple captain, you could bench-boost 30, triple captain 32.
12:58You'd be looking to free hit in either Game Week 33 or Game Week 34,
13:01depending on how the FA Cup results do go.
13:05So, just to do a little bit more on my team,
13:07I'm still not 100% certain of what transfers I'm going to make,
13:10but I do feel like there is a scenario now, which is most likely,
13:13and it does not involve selling Cole Palmer.
13:16Those transfers include doing Watkins out and buying Evan Nilsson.
13:20Remember, that is not actually Erling Harland that I'm buying as of yet.
13:24Ahmad out, most likely to Alanga, although if I'm, you know, tight of money
13:28and I decide to do these transfers tomorrow morning,
13:30it might be that I don't go with Alanga and I go with someone cheaper.
13:33This allows me to do Trent down to Kerkes.
13:36Again, it could be Kerkes or it could be a Nottingham Forest defender.
13:39I don't have money to do these transfers if I want to go and buy Gavardia.
13:44You're probably thinking, well, Harry, that leaves you loads of money.
13:465.7 million in the bank, uses three free transfers,
13:49and does not buy me Erling Harland.
13:51However, if I substitute players in, it does, in theory, give me a full 11,
13:55but it does include Greaves.
13:57It actually leaves me exact money in the bank
13:59to do Alexander Isak up to Erling Harland.
14:02This would allow me to bench Greaves this week.
14:04It allows me to get a team I want without investing too much into the midfield.
14:09It allows me to keep Cole Palmer.
14:10It allows me to keep Salah and Munoz,
14:12and I'm not forced to play Greaves this week.
14:15It has exact money in the bank.
14:16I haven't decided if I want to confirm any of these transfers tonight
14:19because it does look like Alexander Isak might drop.
14:22It also looks like we might get some rises to the likes of Kerkes as well,
14:25so I might be forced into it, or I just don't go with Kerkes,
14:28or I don't go with a Langer, and I go with a Milenkovic over Kerkes,
14:32and that just frees up all the money that I might want.
14:35I'm also tempted to go with a Nottingham Forest defender
14:37in case I don't decide to play the assistant manager in...
14:41If I decide to play it in game week 30,
14:43it would allow me to have a little bit more money in the bank,
14:45but I really do like Kerkes over the next two weeks.
14:47Now, a couple of questions.
14:48The first thing is, Harry, you could just sell Palmer.
14:51That is true, but I do like Palmer for the long run.
14:54He also helps make my squad a little bit better this week.
14:57The other thing is I'm selling Alexander Isak.
14:59Now, yes, but I am appreciating I'll probably lose about 0.2, 0.3 value on him.
15:05He is expected to drop tonight,
15:07so once that starts to happen, I actually only lose 0.3 million in value,
15:11and the players I'm bringing are expected to rise,
15:13so I might end up gaining a bit of value on them as well.
15:17I don't fully have a route that I'm 100% comfortable of.
15:21Doing this probably commits me slightly more likely to wildcard in game week 31.
15:26Again, I'm not completely against it.
15:28I don't think it's the worst strategy in the world for me to wildcard 31,
15:32bench boost 32, free hit 33.
15:34I actually think that is probably the best strategy left available,
15:37depending on the FA Cup results.
15:39So again, I am at the mercy,
15:40and this is the issue with still having the assistant manager chip available,
15:44that I just am trying to guess what the best transfers are,
15:48depending on Cup results, which are unpredictable
15:51and really hard to know what's going to happen.
15:53At the moment, I'd rather sell Alexander Isak than Cole Palmer,
15:57because Palmer plays this week.
15:58He has spurs at home in game week 30,
16:00and I like him from game week 31 onwards,
16:02if I don't decide to go and play the wildcard in game week 31.
16:07Now, just to click through and see what this would look like,
16:10in game week 30, this is potentially when I would be looking to play
16:13the assistant manager chip.
16:15It's not entirely obvious where I'd get the money from.
16:17I actually think Jordan Pickford down to someone like a Jose Sarr
16:20is potentially where I'd look to get the money.
16:22I could replace a Mikalenko.
16:25I could replace a Greaves with another cheaper defender,
16:28or do something else.
16:29This is part of the reason, if I do decide to play the assistant manager in game week 30,
16:33not going with Kyrgios and going with the Williams,
16:35or not going with a Lange,
16:37going with a cheaper midfielder might be a better option,
16:40because it would free up the money.
16:41So, if we just go back, and instead of going with the Lange,
16:44one I've actually looked at is going with Bellegarde of Wolves.
16:48Southampton away this week,
16:49and the only other week I might need him is game week 34,
16:52where he's got Leicester at home.
16:54So, in game week 30, I'd probably do that,
16:58and it would leave me enough money to play the assistant manager,
17:01probably on Glasner.
17:04In game week 30, if I don't play the Wildcard in game week 31,
17:08game week 31 would start to roll around.
17:11We'd get back to the point where it's the double for Newcastle and Crystal Palace on the horizon.
17:16So, I would be looking at something like Harland,
17:18back to Alexander Isak, and Evan Nilsson back to Mateta.
17:21Now, the reason this is important, just to walk you through it,
17:24is that is a minus four, if I was to buy them in game week 31.
17:27Of course, I wouldn't bench Salah for any of these weeks.
17:30I would just play him, and I wouldn't play Munoz as well.
17:33The reason that's important is the Isak to Harland move is worthwhile, potentially,
17:41but it does mean that I'll probably be doing Isak to Harland,
17:44and if I don't play the Wildcard in 31, I'm doing Harland back to Isak.
17:48That's two additional transfers just for Harland for two weeks,
17:52and is that really worthwhile?
17:53Whereas I could, this week, just not go and buy Erling Harland,
17:58and leave it as it is, only use three free transfers,
18:01play a back four like this, and just hope that Erling Harland doesn't go crazy this week.
18:07I haven't ruled out selling Cole Palmer.
18:09I just think the chances of that happening are probably much lower now
18:12than I thought earlier on in the week.
18:14The obvious thing would just be to go Harland, not buy Evan Nilsson,
18:17but I just look at the value on Evan Nilsson, and just think he's such a good pick.
18:20In terms of captaincy, if I don't buy Harland, it'll be Chris Wood.
18:23If I do buy Harland, captaincy will be on Harland.
18:27So, that is all for this final decisions video.
18:29You might be able to tell, I think I've got something in my throat,
18:32and it's making me a little bit hoarse, as you might have heard for the majority of this video.
18:37Hopefully, I've edited out all the points where I've had to stop pretty well.
18:40Anyway, there will be a deadline stream on Saturday morning.
18:42If I do make transfers tonight, I'll probably post them here, there, and everywhere,
18:46depending on what I decide to do.
18:48I might do some of them tonight, and some of them tomorrow,
18:50depending on upcoming price changes as well.
18:52Any questions you have about your team, about anything in this video,
18:55do drop it in the comment section down below.
18:56With a slightly later deadline, hopefully I'll have plenty of time to answer them.
19:00If not, come over to the deadline stream.
19:01We'll answer as many as we can on that stream as well.
19:04Before we go, 2,000 likes is the aim.
19:06Subscribe if you're new around here, and I'll be back again very soon.
