00:00Touchwood, till now, by God's grace, all the big stars you're talking about, for example, I've had the blessing to work with Mr. Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Jimmy Shervil Sahib, Ashish Vidyarthi ji, and Rajiv Khandelwal, Saeed Amankar, all these people, in fact, my very first small role, I'll tell you something very interesting, my very first small role was a
00:29montage in a film called Lucknow Central, in which Mr. Farhan Akhtar and others were there, in fact, my scene was with all of them, Mr. G.P. Grewal was there in that scene, Deepak Dobriyal bhai, who has become a very good friend of mine, he was there, Mr. Farhan Akhtar was there, and Mr. Imam Ulhaq was there, so imagine, such people were sitting there, and a new person had gone there, in that scene too, I remember, Deepak Dobriyal bhai and I, it was supposed to be a montage,
00:58and I improvised such a dialogue to which he reciprocated, and that much improvisation is still there on YouTube, it had become a promo, imagine, so I think I have really been blessed to have good experiences, where everybody was only supportive and they only pushed me, in fact, if I talk about my own show,
01:18I remember, such big directors, Mr. Aditya Swarup Ghoda, Mr. Munjaya, and Rajiv Khandelwar, all these were so inclusive and they gave so much respect, equal respect, so, Touchwood, I have never had such an experience where I have been sidelined, but everyone always pushed me forward.
01:34Our own set of struggles, it is not comparable, because, see, you, for example, those who are watching this interview of mine, or those who are taking it, our life, we don't choose, which house we will be born in, which strata of society we will be born in, who our parents will be, what they do, we don't choose this, this is given to us, right,
02:02so, I think, wherever, in whichever position you get this life, you have your own set of struggles, the matter is, how do you deal with your existing set of struggles, now, for a so-called target, you may feel that it is being launched, but there are different types of pressures on it, which normal people can never understand,
02:22but some actors who come from outside Bombay, who are outsiders, they may find it easier to earn a living, so, I think, we all have our own set of struggles, and comparing the two, I think, is slightly unfair.
02:36Well, it depends on the caliber of the actor, because, I would give examples of people like Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, Irfan Khan, Sushant Singh Rajputji, all these people have proved their mettle in television first, and then, they have become stars of Indian cinema, so, I think, it is totally subjective, it depends on the,
03:05the hold on craft that you have, because, even if you are the same person, with that set of skills, you have the same camera in front of you, now, the footage will go on TV, or in a film, or in a web series, I think, I don't think like that, so, I think, if you have that capability, if you have that potential, then you will be accepted.
03:28Yes, I will definitely say that, I think, in every TV star, whether or not they have that potential, it depends, that from a TV star to, otherwise, all the TV stars would have become film stars, so, I think, there is some difference in the level of your craft, which takes you from there to there, but, it is not necessary that if you are a TV star, and you are accepted, then you cannot go into films, I can go into films and come back on TV.
03:59I have had this opportunity to play Shivram Hari Rajguru ji, from our Independence Struggle days, I had played that role, and it was a passion, it was a passion, in that era, of those people, although, at that time, our country was going through an independence movement, that was not a very great phrase as a country, but, as a character, I think, today, I feel it is missing, we get inspired by watching movies like Indya Basanti, but I think,
04:26the way I lived that character for a short time, that passion, I think, I would like to live that once.
04:40I think, we will get to know this only, when we will see them together in a frame, then only we will be able to decide, I think, apart from that, both have their own place, and both have too much.
04:56It was in the early days, thankfully, it doesn't happen now, when I came from Delhi, my father was my acting teacher, and by profession, he was also an acting teacher, so, I had worked very hard on my craft, I had studied a lot, I had studied drama, so, when I came to Bombay, I thought, here, it will be about acting, it will be about craft, but, back then, I was auditioning, mostly for TV shows, I was young, so, people said, try TV first, so, when I went there, people did acting and craft,
05:25before talking about performance, they judged you on your outlook, how are your hair, how good are your clothes, are they expensive or not, what is your makeup, what is not, so, I was very surprised and surprised that, I didn't know that an actor, along with becoming an actor, has to be a hair stylist, costume stylist, and makeup stylist too,
05:45I should have come here, I should have been here because of the acting that I have learnt, but it wasn't like that, but still, I mean, that was one of the initial days, rest of my life has been good so far.
05:55I think, there are a lot of people, I don't know how to name someone, but, I think, this category, I mean, first of all, along with Aditya sir, I want to do a new season of Secret of Shiladar, I want to explore a lot of new things,
06:16apart from that, I think, people like Mr. Vishal Bhardwaj, Mr. Anurag Kashyap sir, Imtiaz Ali sir, Anurag Basu sir, these are the kind of people I really, really want to work with.
06:32Again, again, would be, I think, Vicky bhai.
06:35Probably, a film that I would love to play on screen, yes, I got the chance to do a play with Piyush Mishra sir, it's name is Gagandha Mama Bajiyo, there, I understood Bhagat Singh's character very closely, so, that is a character, though it has been played many times, but I want to play that character in my own way.
07:06I think, there has to be Paataal Lok, I saw Paataal Lok recently.
07:16I think, Bollywood debut, yaar, debut waisa wala, jaise aap debut samajh rahe hain, woh toh, kab hoga, kiske saath hoga, pata nahi, but, I really look forward to work with Deepika Padukone ma'am, as an actor, I think, that will be something magical.
07:36Holy wish, holy wish yeh yeh yaar, ki, let's just be grateful for the life we have, have more sense of gratitude, love and respect for each other, and, just spread the happiness, aur kisi ka dil mat dukhao, bas yeh yeh yaar, basically, hum log life ko bahut granted le lete hain, everyday we wake up, hum log apne hi routine mein atke rehte hain, but, I think, we need to have a moment where we pause, and we genuinely be grateful for the family, the life,
08:04the body, you know, the life that we have, I think, woh hai, agar yeh sense of gratitude hai, toh har din bhuliye, har din diwaliye.
