00:00Let's get your initial take on the MECO deal.
00:18What does he bring to the stars?
00:19Oh boy.
00:21Yeah.
00:22We, we heard his name about two weeks before the deadline that started to come out that
00:26he might be available or he wasn't going to sign with Carolina or they're looking to trade
00:30him.
00:31And, you know, obviously our ears perked up here in Dallas and Jim Neal has a way of finding
00:35these players or being able to bring them in and make the deal.
00:38And you talk about a guy, he's 28 years old, he's big, he's burly.
00:44He is your prototypical player.
00:45If you were to build, just build a playoff player, this is the guy you would build.
00:51He's got experience.
00:52He's big.
00:54He can dish the puck.
00:55He can score.
00:56He can work your power play.
00:57Like, it's amazing.
00:58He does it all.
00:59And for Jim Neal to be able to bring them in and then sign them to that big contract,
01:04it's pretty amazing.
01:05And there was a high price to it, obviously, obviously with the first round pick and the
01:09Stan Colvin that had to go the other way, but man, he made his team so much better and
01:14the depth that they have and the ability to battle in playoffs and have three or four
01:20lines coming at you.
01:21It's very exciting for us that do follow hockey quite a bit, that they brought him in and
01:26supplements what the stars have right now.
01:29So it's just, it's the perfect player to insert at this time of year for what he can do in
01:35playoffs and also what he can do in the regular season to get you there.
