New Wigan Athletic head coach believes that he is at the club to bring the good times back.

00:00What attracted me to Wigan Athletic Football Club is a football club I've monitored over the years and watched closely.
00:05Obviously Gregor being a sporting director and coming in and doing a fantastic job and where it's been, it's had some fantastic good times.
00:13Not so good times of late, but I'm here to bring the good times back with everyone involved to try and get us to the next level.
00:20And where it's been previous before that, fantastic fan base and fantastic football club.
00:26Now run by good people in the ownership group who are wanting to take small steps, mid-steps, big steps to get where we want to get to.
00:34That's obviously why I'm here. The ambition of the football club and the ownership group and Greg was pleasing to hear.
00:41Hence why I'm here now as Wigan Athletic Head Coach.
00:44We've got short-term goals from now to the end of the season.
00:47I must say Glenn Wheelan and staff have done a fantastic job over the past few weeks and will continue to do that for Saturday.
00:54It's about building small blocks of what it looks like.
00:58I was relatively successful at Plymouth Argyll in building a squad that eventually got out of the division and the other manager took over from it and got them there in the end.
01:09Built a fantastic squad at Preston North End who were trying to achieve greatness and get into the playoffs and get into where everyone wants to be, the Premier League.
01:17That will be our ambition together with me, Greg and the recruitment department.
01:21Getting some players in that we feel, along with the group we've got, to help us eventually get to where we want to get to.
01:28There's no, it's got to be this year, next year or the year before.
01:31We'll build and we'll plan and we'll do it properly because it just doesn't happen overnight.
01:35I'm sure with the infrastructure we've got and with the support of the ownership group and everyone involved then eventually we can get where we want to get to.
