A routine commute turned alarming for LRT passengers Wednesday (March 12) night when train number 84 on the Kelana Jaya line experienced a sudden malfunction.

According to Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, the issue stemmed from damage to the train's power collector assembly component.

00:32The company confirmed that the issue stemmed from damage to the train's power collector
00:36assembly component.
00:38Fortunately, no injuries occurred during the incident, and all passengers were safely evacuated
00:44at the Abdullah Hukum station.
00:47Alternative train services were activated to minimise disruption.
00:51The affected train has since been sent to the maintenance depot for further investigation.
00:56In response to the incident, Rapid Rail said its engineers have intensified inspection
01:00procedures on all trains operating along the Kelana Jaya Line.
