00:00Stores in a family home in Quezon City were shocked by the following.
00:05The maximum suggested retail price of pork was announced by the Department of Agriculture.
00:10JM Pineda of PTV for Balitang Pambansa, live.
00:17According to some stores here in Kamaning Market, the price is still original, the price is not moving.
00:24When they sell pork, the maximum suggested retail price starts to be fulfilled.
00:29This means that the price before the MSRP is fulfilled is still the same price they are selling to their customers.
00:41At 6 in the morning, there are already people who are shopping here in Kamaning Market to buy food for lunch.
00:48The pork is particular, the price is not moving, so somehow, there is a slight delay for them.
00:56It's okay, for lunch.
00:59For the students to eat.
01:06Some pork stores, like Aling Noymi, are forced to follow the maximum suggested retail price set by the DA.
01:14But sometimes, they get a loss because of the size of the collection.
01:19We told them that those who are collecting from the pig farm are not paying us.
01:25The price is still the same.
01:28Now, we are not able to follow the news that we are telling our customers.
01:36For now, the price of pork in Kamaning Market is not moving because some stores are still adjusting
01:42to the price set by the Department of Agriculture.
01:46The price of Kasim and Pigue is still around Php 380 to Php 400.
01:52Liempo is around Php 460 to Php 480 per kilo while Boto-Boto is around Php 300 per kilo.
02:00According to the stores, they will try their best to follow the MSRP set by the government
02:06so that the customers can also save.
02:09Now, for rice, some stores are still following the MSRP which is Php 49 per kilo.
02:17Even the President's office that sells rice for Php 29 per kilo is still following the MSRP.
02:23That's the latest here in Kamaning Market.
02:25Back to you, Nayomi.
02:27Thank you very much, JM Pineda for PTV.
