00:00Malacanang denied the alleged state kidnapping that happened to former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:05In the middle of the palace, they even cried for the safety and well-being of the former president.

00:10Clay Salpardilla is back.

00:13There was no kidnapping in the arrest and sending of former President Rodrigo Duterte to the Netherlands last night.

00:21That is Malacanang's answer to Vice President Sara Duterte's accusation that state kidnapping happened to her father,

00:29who was sent to The Hague to face the case of Crimes Against Humanity,

00:34which was filed by the International Criminal Court in connection with Duterte's bloody fight against drugs

00:40while he was still sitting as the former president, and extrajudicial killings when he was the mayor of Davos City.

00:47The palace said that the kidnapping was a forced arrest by an unauthorized authority.

00:52So how can it be a kidnapping if Duterte has a warrant of arrest in the ICC?

00:58It was issued by an authority, by the court.

01:04If there is an issuance of any order from the court, we have to comply, especially with what happened to us through Interpol.

01:13So I don't see any kidnapping. We are complete with the papers.

01:17The judge asked for help from the International Criminal Police Organization,

01:22where the Philippines is a member and has an obligation.

01:25Malacanang was forced to undergo a standard operating procedure by the former president,

01:30which was not in accordance with Duterte's condition.

01:34He was treated well by the former president.

01:37He was accompanied by a lawyer, feeling security personnel and a nurse to examine his condition.

01:43Malacanang argued that Duterte's arrest was a result of the refusal to comply with the ICC's notice.

01:50They were given one year to act on the alleged complaints.

01:57But there was no action.

01:59If there was a lack of action and they were told that they were not given due process,

02:04they were the ones who turned their back on their right to listen to the prosecutor.

02:11Despite the expected confrontation with the ICC,

02:14the palace assured that the other victim of Duterte's war on drugs could still file a complaint.

02:20There's no waiver yet of the right of the state to still run after him if there are other complainants in the country.

02:30It just so happened that there is already a pending case before the ICC and we are just complying and enforcing.

02:38Malacanang first said that he will ensure peace and order,

02:42so he urged the public to be critical of Duterte's case.

02:47This is not just a made-up story.

02:51There are victims.

02:54This is not evidence.

02:58The case did not come from the Philippines.

03:01This case is pending in the ICC.

03:05What will be their reason to urge the people to rise up against the government,

03:12while the government is doing and enforcing the law?
