00:30At the joint press conference yesterday in Manila, Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanya Fayon said
00:35that the progress and progress in international law is the most important for Ljubljana.
00:41She said that the progress in international law is more important because of the current challenges in the geopolitical environment.
00:48We are a non-permanent member of the Security Council, strongly committed to international law, to UN Charter, to human rights,
00:57and we share those values together with the Philippines,
01:01and we are also fully supportive of the candidacy of the Philippines to the Security Council in the near future.
01:09For Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo,
01:11the importance of cooperation, multilateralism, and compliance with the rules-based order with other countries should be strengthened.
01:20Our campaign for the Security Council non-permanent seat is also based on these important values and principles.
01:27The two officials also discussed the regional and international developments,
01:31particularly what is happening in the Indo-Pacific, ASEAN, and West Philippine Sea,
01:35as well as what is happening in Ukraine and the Middle East.
01:39In 2005, the Philippines was the last time to get a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council,
01:46and in 1957, the Philippines was the first time to be placed in the UNSC.
01:51Meanwhile, in their bilateral meeting, the two officials discussed the strengthening of cooperation between the Philippines and Slovenia
02:00in important sectors, particularly in trade and investments.
02:04The two countries will also continue to cooperate in other sectoral areas,
02:09such as space, science and technology application, nuclear energy, maritime education, training, sports, and labor.
