00:00The number of cases of dengue in Pebero decreased compared to last year.
00:05The Department of Health assured the continuous service of Dengue Fast Lanes in various hospitals.
00:11That's what Bien Manalo reported.
00:15Even if the heat of the time we are experiencing is increasing,
00:19the Health Department's concern for the dengue is still tight
00:23because the dengue is not being chosen.
00:25I think our increase may be related to warmer weather.
00:30If it doesn't mean summer, it really means less.
00:32But the dengue is still there.
00:33The dengue is there all year round.
00:35According to the DOH,
00:37more than 14,000 cases of dengue were reported from February 2 to February 15, 2025.
00:44Less than 10% of dengue cases were reported from January 1 to February 1.
00:49The most reported cases are from Calabarzon,
00:52which has more than 12,000 cases,
00:54followed by the National Capital Region and Central Luzon.
00:57The most cases of dengue are still children aged 14 years and below.
01:02The case fatality rate is still lower this year,
01:06at 0.35% compared to 0.42% last year.
01:12Even though the number of new dengue cases is decreasing,
01:14the government expects that it will increase when the rainy season comes.
01:19Because of this, the government continues to find other ways to treat the dying patients.
01:25There's an experiment on Wolbachia.
01:28Wolbachia is a bacteria.
01:31And what it does is,
01:33it's inside the mosquito's body.
01:36When it's infected by dengue, the mosquito dies.
01:40So, this has been used in Jakarta, in Indonesia,
01:45in some parts in Taiwan.
01:47Very promising, but it's not that cheap.
01:51Today, Hospital Rounds conducted the Department of Health
01:55at Rizal Medical Center in Pasig City
01:57to ensure the readiness of the hospital for the treatment of dengue.
02:01According to the hospital,
02:02more than 60 cases of dengue have been reported in the city this year
02:07compared to last year.
02:09Most of those infected are children.
02:12Again, a reminder, vector control.
02:15At 4 p.m. against mosquito.
02:19Taktak, tuyok, takip.
02:22Labanan ang dengue.
02:24Pinutukang ko talaga itong alas 4 contra sa mosquito
02:29para malabanan yung vector.
02:31Patuloy naman ang pagkahatid ng serbisya ng Dengue Fastlane
02:35sa ibang-ibang dako ng Pilipinas.
02:37BN Manalo, para sa Pambansang TV sa Bagong Pilipinas.
