00:00We're here with Neil Price following today's 3-2 defeat against Camelford in the South West Peninsular League Premier West division.
00:08Neil, it's a tough afternoon to take in the end but I guess quite a lot of positives to take as well. What were your thoughts on the afternoon?
00:15Yeah, very much so. We've come here and played against a Camelford side that have had some really good results lately.
00:21I think we've obviously come in off the 2-0 against Millbrook. I thought we completely and utterly until the last 15 minutes or so dominated the game.
00:30I thought we scored two great goals. I don't think they had another shot at the goal.
00:36And then I think last five minutes or so, certainly when they went 2-1, I think we just dropped a tad deep and I think they got the breaks on the day again.
00:48The winning goal was a cross that came back out to him and then he just pushed it to inside and they scored a little bit of fortune, I think, which won them the game.
00:57They battled their scrap. They're a decent side, tough to play against, nice and strong. But I thought we more than matched them today.
01:05And when you're not used to winning game after game after game and you've had a tough season like we have in every single way, I think sometimes it's a little bit difficult to get over the line.
01:14I think we didn't manage the last five minutes or so in which they scored their two goals.
01:19So, yeah, disappointed that we haven't won the game. I think it's three points lost.
01:25I think Reggie will probably do the lottery tonight because it's a bit of a smash and grab, to be fair to him.
01:31But good luck to them. And yeah, we move on with a much improved performance.
01:38Things are looking, you know, much better with the group that we've got.
01:41I thought young Parnell, who's barely 17, played seven and a half, was outstanding.
01:47I thought young Olly Northam at left back against 17, absolutely outstanding.
01:52I thought they were men of the match. I thought they were head and shoulders above anything defensively in the whole game.
01:57So that bodes really, really well. And yeah, well, I just felt that we really should have won.
02:04But as you said, I'm focused on the positives. I've just said to the lads in there,
02:09obviously, we're all disappointed about the last five minutes, but let's focus on the 85 minutes.
02:13Because if we play like that, show that real aggression and will to win and want to win with the quality that we showed at times,
02:21I think we'll probably go and win more than we lose in the last five or six games, six games of the season.
02:26OK, yeah. And you also say the first half performance was solid as well.
02:31You restricted them to pretty much nothing.
02:33But I guess when you went 2-0 up, you must have been slightly disappointed with the goal they scored to be done on the counter-attack.
02:39Is that a bit of just a bit of naivety or is that just the case?
02:41I think it was just a mistake. You know, the ball comes a long way.
02:45To be fair to Kyle Aldridge, he's not a right back, he's a left back.
02:49He just got caught the wrong way and he thought he could get it and it just goes.
02:54And it's obviously quite a bobble. It bobbled past him.
02:56And to be fair, it's a good finish by a decent player at this level in Guston.
03:00You know, it's a decent finish. Yeah, a little bit disappointing because it was one ball and it could have been stopped.
03:06But up until that point, that's probably the only shot they'd had on our goal.
03:10So, yeah, I just thought if we could have hung on for another 10 minutes with that
03:14and we could have sort of seen the game out and even spoilt the game for 10 minutes,
03:18I think we could have probably scored the next one.
03:20Because when they did score their second goal to make it 2-2, they had five players playing up front.
03:26So they'd really decided that they were going for it.
03:28And it's disappointing that this time they rolled the dice and this time they got the reward.
03:34I think we need to learn from that.
03:36We need to realise that, you know, we've got to get better at seeing games out.
03:42And yeah, I can't remember another shot they had on the goal.
03:45Liam Hill hasn't had another shot to save.
03:47So disappointing in that phase.
03:50But to be honest with you, it all bodes well for going forward.
03:53And with the young lads that are in the team that were so good today,
03:56all things are looking really boding well for the future of the football club.
04:00The twos, the threes and the ones.
04:02The twos had a great result in the week, 5-1.
04:05And they're looking upwards.
04:07I mean, I just hope we can win two or three games before the end of the season
04:11and put ourselves out of the bottom two or three.
