00:28have until March 10th to submit their comments and Bristol City Council leaders say that
00:33there has already been a record number of responses to the controversial idea. Households

00:52The proposals follow a decision by South Gloucestershire Council to cut collections
00:57of non-recyclable household waste from every two to every three weeks. Councillor Martin
01:04Fodor, Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Policy Committee, said the council faces a
01:10significant challenge to ensure that our city wastes less and recycles and reuses more if
01:18we are able to build a cleaner and more sustainable Bristol. Neighbouring Somerset Council switch
01:23to only collecting black bins every three weeks in 2021 and 2022. The North Somerset
01:30Council is set to do the same. The council is also replacing its bin and recycling lorries
01:36with electric vehicles that will be charged from the solar panels on the roof of the new
01:42Keynsham Recycling Centre.
