00:00The first, let's start off with the big sports betting story in the United States.
00:04And wouldn't you know, the state of Hawaii may be getting their act together to legalize sports betting.
00:08Well, maybe not that close, but here is the story as it stands.
00:10As of right now, they passed an online sports betting bill yesterday, which will now head to the Senate to try to get this thing legalized.
00:17It was approved by the House.
00:19Representatives voted 35 to 15 to pass House bill.
00:23It was 1308.
00:25Three of the yes votes came with some reservations.
00:27There were some detractors on the bill that feel like sports betting and sports gambling could lead to some other illegalities and improprieties.
00:36But needless to say, a very positive step for Hawaii.
00:39If it gets through the Senate, this could be voted on as early as next year.
00:42So we will see.
00:43Meanwhile, Nevada has decided that the company called Kalshi, which is a prediction-based business, is no longer valid in the state of Nevada.
00:52The Nevada Gaming Control Board, the NGCB, announced on Tuesday that they're sending a cease and desist letter to Kalshi.
01:00It is the company to not accept any kind of sports wagering or any kind of prediction markets by March the 14th.
01:08If you've never heard of Kalshi before, they've offered different options based on things that happen that don't have anything to do with sports, including the presidency of the United States.
01:19So by March 14th, they will have to cease and desist in the state of Nevada.
01:25Meanwhile, in the state of Nevada, the rich keep getting richer.
01:28Max Crosby is going to be with the Las Vegas Raiders for the foreseeable future.
01:33Three years, $106.5 million contract extension.
01:37Since entering the league, Crosby has totaled 59.5 sacks.
01:42That's the fifth most in the National Football League.
01:45So Crosby won't be traded and he won't be a free agent.
01:48Now, last year was a little difficult of a year for him because, of course, he was hurt for a significant portion of the season, played through a lot of the injuries and talked about that being the motivation to sign this contract and stay with the Raiders.
02:00Going off the year that you had last year, obviously, that's very out of character for you to not be able to be on the field and how hard it was to watch.
02:06How driven are you this offseason and how difficult has been to maybe hold yourself back a little bit to not to not go overboard this early in the process?
02:14You know, I don't believe in that.
02:15You know, I just I truly just take it one day at a time.
02:18You know, it's a it's a brick by brick mentality.
02:23Obviously, it's unfortunate.
02:24You know, I got hurt last year as a part of the game's part of, you know, what comes with it.
02:29And, of course, you know, I'm not going to sit here and, you know, make a bunch of big predictions about what I'm going to do next year.
02:35I'm focused on being the best version of me today and I'll worry about tomorrow when it gets here.
02:38So when that time comes, everybody will see.
02:41But I'm truly just focused on on the details and fine tuning my craft in every single way across the board.
02:46So, yeah, of course, I'm extremely motivated and excited every time my alarm goes off at five a.m.
02:53You know what I mean? So, yeah, we got a lot of work to do until then.
02:57Good news for Max Crosby and the Raiders. Bad news for Joey Bosa.
03:01He was released by the Chargers.
03:04He'll be looking for a new home.
03:05It'll save them twenty five point three six million dollars in cap space.
03:10And Bosa was a pro bowler in twenty twenty four.
03:13He'll have no problem finding work.
03:15We'll see where he ends up this summer.
03:17Meanwhile, DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks appears to want out of his situation there.
03:24He is seeking a trade and a contract extension.
03:27He's twenty nine years old in the final year of a three year seventy two million dollar contract.
03:33He's set to make eighteen million this past this coming season.
03:36He had sixty six catches, nine hundred ninety two yards and five touchdowns.
03:40He missed a couple of games. We'll see if the Seahawks oblige him.
03:43Meanwhile, on the fringe of a possible trade for DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett will be looking for a new home.
03:52Seattle released him after ten seasons in the league.
03:54Lockett went on social media thanking the Seahawks.
03:56Certainly had a great career. We'll see if that continues somewhere else.
04:00Zach Bon assigned a three year fifty one million dollar contract with the world champion Philadelphia Eagles.
04:05And the Jaguars apparently plan to release Christian Kirk to save them ten million dollars.
04:10He had just forty eight catches for Jacksonville last season.
04:14Shea Gilgis Alexander did not have fifty points last night.
04:17He only had forty one. This guy's incredible.
04:20The Thunder have won now fourteen of sixteen games and they beat the Grizzlies final score one twenty to one oh three.
04:27SGA is not only the overwhelming favorite to win the MVP of the league,
04:31but it looks like the Thunder probably going to capture that number one seed in the West.
04:36It just keeps on rolling for SGA and company. Here he is after the game.
04:40Yeah, we have so many guys that come in whenever their numbers calls,
04:46like just to highlight the one who was really special tonight, like Jalen Williams.
04:51He like check comes back, he's playing good ball.
04:56He naturally has a lesser role. He understands it.
05:01He like his attitude doesn't change. His effort doesn't change. Who he is doesn't change for the team.
05:07He played like some nights he plays, some nights he doesn't play.
05:09Some nights he gets told he's not going to play and just gets thrown in and plays.
05:14And then to have like a masterpiece of a game like he did tonight was so big.
05:19It's like guys in my position, like not take it for granted, but like you,
05:25you'll never understand how hard how hard that is to not have security.
05:30And every night I know I'm going to play thirty five minutes.
05:33I'm going to shoot twenty shots like no matter what.
05:36And like to not have that and still be steady as rock is special.
05:41And we're lucky to have a guy like that. And he was who he was tonight.
05:45And it's the reason why we've been a good team all year.
05:48And they just keep on rolling. Is Oklahoma City the only team that seems to play better than them this season at any period of time?
05:53As the Cleveland Cavaliers, they win again. They've won twelve games in a row.
05:58Mine, he gave him a battle last night. So the heat cover.
06:00But Cleveland does win one twelve to one oh seven.
06:03Donovan Mitchell had twenty six points. Cleveland's now fifty two and ten.
06:06Meanwhile, James Harden had fifty points last night.
06:09He turned back the clock for the Clippers. They beat the Pistons one twenty three to one fifteen.
06:13Kate Cunningham had thirty seven points in that game.
06:16How about career highs for the Boston Celtics?
06:19Peyton Pritchard had forty three points last night and made ten three pointers.
06:25The Celtics beat the Blazers one twenty eight to one eighteen.
06:28Derek White also had a big game. He had forty one points.
06:31Here's Pritchard on his career game last night.
06:35Not necessarily. I mean, really, I just like when I'm processing the game, it's just about taking the right shots, making the right reads.
06:41So I feel like if I do that and, you know, obviously if you get enough attempts, it should be a good night regardless.
06:46I mean, obviously you're going to have your down nights, but for the most part, just pride myself on making the right read every time.
06:52I mean, we were talking about it was like kind of crazy that we weren't even like just hitting the rim,
06:56like just swishes and I don't know, you get high and like I was getting a lot of really good looks.
07:02And so it's the offense that we were running and the guys to find me.
07:08It's a great night for Peyton Pritchard and a great day for the University of Miami.
07:12They have poached one of the best assistant coaches in the country.
07:15Jai Lucas is leaving Duke effective immediately to become the next head coach of the Miami Hurricanes.
07:22Certainly one of the better defensive coaches in college basketball as well.
07:26Upstate in Gainesville, the Gators beat Alabama ninety nine to ninety four,
07:31securing one of the top seeds you would think in the NCAA tournament.
07:35Alex Condon had twenty seven points and ten rebounds.
07:38Alabama's lost a couple of games in a row.
07:41Jamin Breakfield leads Ole Miss to a two point win over number four Tennessee.
07:45So you would expect the volunteers to drop in the polls coming out on Monday ahead of the SEC tournament.
07:51And Maryland beats Michigan seventy one to sixty five.
07:55That was the final in that game.
07:56Michigan now twenty two at eight on the season waiting for news in the Grapefruit League and waiting for good news,
08:02hopefully for Christian Walker.
08:03He has an oblique issue.
08:04The Astros signed him to a three year, 60 million dollar contract.
08:08They're optimistic he'll be ready for opening day.
08:10But as of right now, no report as of yet.
08:12Garrett Crochet struck out seven in three shutout innings for the Red Sox.
08:18He also was clocked at one hundred and one miles per hour.
08:22Adam Duvall is still a free agent, says that he will retire unless he gets three million dollars to play next season.
08:28That's interesting.
08:29And Paul Skeens makes his second spring training start of the Grapefruit League season against the Orioles.
08:35That begins at six.
08:36Oh, five.
