00:00Fifteen people were injured in South Korea on Thursday after bombs dropped by fighter
00:07jets landed in a civilian district, damaging houses and a church during military exercises
00:12in Poshan.
00:13The Air Force said eight 225-kilogram Mk-82 bombs from two KF-16 jets fell outside the
00:22shooting range during joint live-fire exercises.
00:26Eyewitness footage showed smoke rising above buildings and shattered glass windows in the
00:31aftermath of the accident.
00:33The accident was due to a pilot entering incorrect coordinates, said a military official who
00:39declined to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter.
00:42The official said that the two jets then dropped four bombs each, with all of them detonating.
00:48Poshan is about 40 kilometers northeast of Seoul, near the heavily militarized border
00:53with North Korea.
00:55Residents in the area have protested about the disturbance and potential danger from
00:59nearby training grounds for years.
01:02An official said authorities would suspend live-fire exercises until there was clear
01:08understanding of what went wrong, but the incident would not affect major joint South
01:13Korean and U.S. military exercises due to begin on Monday.
