00:00Bradford City were looking to break a record at Valley Parade as they welcomed Cheltenham Town to West Yorkshire.
00:06A win would see the Bantams set a new club record for consecutive home wins, as well as move them just two points away from League Two leaders Walsall.
00:14Graham Alexander's side have been the league's form team of late and this was another opportunity to demonstrate their quality.
00:22In the end it was a relatively comfortable evening for Bradford who succeeded in setting a new club record as they won by three goals to nil over a Cheltenham side who could not live with a Bantams firepower.
00:35George Lapsley opened scoring on the half hour mark and scored a second just minutes into the second half.
00:42The performance was then capped off by Michael Mellon who netted to make it three on the hour mark.
00:49Graham Alexander made clear that the display highlighted all of the attributes that both he as manager and the supporters want to see when they come to Valley Parade.
00:58That's a Bradford City team, that's what I think the fans want to see, a team that plays that way, that thinks that way and behaves that way.
01:10The players have done so much work in and out of possession all the way from pre-season to make sure we can perform like that.
01:18To be able to do that and produce that sort of energy when we're in the 12th game in 36 days or so is phenomenal really from the players.
01:29They deserve a lot of credit and then tomorrow we'll be back at work ready to prepare for Saturday.
01:37Despite all of the recent games, Alexander was hugely impressed by the work rate his side have continued to show.
01:44The day we posted on Saturday against Salford was the highest of the season physically which blows my mind really what the players are capable of.
01:54Every credit to how they prepare. It's in the head, how we score 94th minute winners on Saturday is down to mentality, it's down to heart.
02:07Tonight I thought we got the ball down, we played some really good incisive football, we were defensively very strong, we didn't give too much away.
02:17They can cause you problems, they do have threats in behind and got a lot of legs in their team.
02:24We had to be really vigilant which the players were focused all the way through and we scored three good goals.
02:30I felt we could have maybe got a couple more but I'm delighted to win by that scoreline.
02:36Alexander then further highlighted how his side were able to deal with Cheltenham and impose themselves on the fixture to ultimately win the game.
02:45We've got to take it for granted it's hard work to win any game of football against any team and Cheltenham have got their threats.
02:52We had to make sure we looked after that side of the game first.
02:56I always believe we have players in our squad that can score goals and so it proved tonight.
03:05I thought Michael's finish was really good, I thought that was his best performance for us since he's come into the team.
03:12George has highlighted his attributes as a goalscoring midfield player tonight, I thought Brandon was very good again.
03:21Next to Richie I thought they were excellent midfield but I could go through the team, Jamie Walker setting up two goals today and looked so sharp.
03:30There was a lot of real good strong performances tonight and we need them to do it all again on Saturday when we go down to Gyln.
03:37Alexander was also keen to speak about double goalscorer George Lapsley.
03:41He set the Bantams up for victory.
03:44He's been really supportive of his teammates but he's been frustrated not so much at not being in the team but not being able to train as hard as he would like to showcase what he's about.
03:58We've been hardly training because of the games and we had a great chat last Wednesday after the Bromley game.
04:06We said look we know how fit you are, it's not a fitness level thing it's just when you get your opportunity you'll be ready for it.
04:12With the personnel missing over the last couple of games it's given him an opportunity and because of how he trains and how he behaves he's ready to take it.
04:22We were delighted to bring him in in January and he's shown his quality tonight.
04:29Another win for Bradford then.
04:31At present they would appear to be unstoppable under Graham Alexander with the League 2 title now coming into reach.
04:38Several games remain but they do not look like slowing down just yet.
