00:00It has sold over for a customer. $80,000 truck. It's $100,000 now. So he's not going to buy the truck.
00:07It's going to sit on my lot at, you know, the higher interest rates we're paying right now for floor plan.
00:12And nobody's going to buy the truck because it just had a $20,000 price increase.
00:17Kelly Blue Book will put the number up. They say the average vehicle will go up by about $3,000.
00:23Does it sound right to you?
00:24No. We don't have the broad strokes. We don't have the linear, the tight strokes.
00:30But to me, it's a 25% tariff. So that affects our parts that come from these countries and a whole bunch of our cars.
00:42And you've been basing your business model on free trade, basically.
00:47This is what the American Automakers Policy Council says, Maria, in response to this.
00:53They say our American automakers invested billions in the U.S. to meet the requirements of the current free trade agreement.
00:59They shouldn't have their competitiveness undermined by tariffs that will raise the cost of building vehicles in the U.S.
01:05and stymie investment in the American workforce while competitors from the outside of North America benefit.
01:11The German, no tariff on the German cars.
01:14No, they're going to be okay. But think about it. We built our business around that.
01:20The OEMs built their business around that. And now it changes on a dime.
01:25And we can't build a $4 billion plant overnight in the United States.
01:31So I think building in the United States is great.
01:34I think enhancing the participation from the other countries on the other things.
01:39But this is pretty radical.
01:42I hear you. There you go, Maria, where the rubber meets the road here.
01:47All right. Great. Yeah.
01:49Pennsylvania. Yeah, exactly.
01:51Jeff, thank you. Thank you so much. Jeff Locke at the Dodge Ram plant.
01:57I mean, not plant. It's not a plant, Chris. They're selling cars.
02:01Thank you. Dealership.
02:03But you know what? Let me let me ask you this, OK?
02:05Yes. How many Dodge Rams do you see driving around Europe?
02:09OK, how many Dodge Rams do you see driving around India?
02:14I mean, not many. I bet. Why?
02:16Because they don't buy our cars. And that's what President Trump is trying to change.
02:20Maybe Dodge should start building them here and selling them here.
