An Israeli man has been sentenced to seven years in prison by the Sessions Court here after pleading guilty to two counts of firearms possession.

00:00Israeli hitman Avitan Shalom has been sentenced to seven years in jail after he pleaded guilty

00:11The 39-year-old admitted to the main charge and an alternative charge during the session's
00:16court proceedings held at the Kajang prison complex on Wednesday.
00:21The court said after considering the guilty plea and severity of the offense, it handed
00:26down the maximum sentence against the accused.
00:29The court ordered the prison time to run concurrently from the date of arrest on March
00:3328 last year.
00:35The court heard that the accused was a company owner supplying medical products and owner
00:39of real estate and cryptocurrency businesses in New York.
00:43He was married with a wife and three children aged 9, 10 and 16, all living in Israel.
00:49He was charged with the offenses in April last year, with the first charge having various
00:53bullets in his possession without a permit.
00:56For the second alternative charge, Shalom possessed six firearms including Glock 19
01:01Luger and Sig Sauer pistol.
01:03The offenses were committed at a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur.
01:07The accused will serve his sentence at the Kajang prison.
