00:08Seremban OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohamed Hatta Chedin said they received information
00:14on the incident at 8.15pm on Monday.
00:17He said preliminary investigation revealed that a 40-year-old man was attacked by a group
00:23of men when he was smoking alone at the mall.
00:25He said the men ran towards the victim with one of them, armed with a machete, slashing
00:30the victim several times.
00:32He said the victim managed to escape and was rescued by his friend before being rushed to
00:37the hospital for treatment.
00:38The victim sustained injuries to the arms, back and right leg, but he is in a stable condition.
00:45Police said there were elements of gangsterism in the case which is believed to be driven
00:49by revenge.
00:50They said they had identified several suspects and are investigating the case for voluntarily
00:56causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
