Trump wants to sell $5-M gold cards to foreigners who will create US jobs  US President Donald Trump says on Feb. 25, 2025 that he wants to begin selling gold cards for $5 million to foreigners who want to move to the US and create jobs. Trump said the immigration program, which he claims to be legal, could start in about two weeks. He added it was possible Russian oligarchs could qualify for the gold cards. The 'EB-5' program granted 'green cards' to foreigners promising to invest in US businesses. 00:00We're going to be doing something else that's going to be very, very good.

00:04We're going to be selling a gold card.

00:09You have a green card.

00:10This is a gold card.

00:12We're going to be putting a price on that card of about five million dollars.

00:16And that's going to give you green card privileges.

00:18Plus, it's going to be a route to citizenship.

00:22And wealthy people will be coming into our country by buying this card.

00:25They'll be wealthy and they'll be successful and they'll be spending a lot of money and

00:29paying a lot of taxes and employing a lot of people.

00:33And we think it's going to be extremely successful and never been done before anything like this.

00:38But it's something that we're going to be putting out over the next, would you say two

00:41weeks out?

00:42You want to say a couple of words about I think companies will pay to get people in.

00:46For instance, you today graduate from the Wharton School of Finance or Harvard or Stanford

00:55or any college.

00:56And nobody knows if you can even go to work for a company.

01:00So Apple and all these companies that want to get people to be working for them will

01:06be able to buy a card.

01:07And for the people that are number one in their class at top schools, I see that as

01:13one of the things.

01:14But generally speaking, it'll be people with money and people that create jobs and they

01:19won't have to pay any tax on income outside of the United States, which they're not paying

01:23right now.

01:24They're not citizens.

01:26They'll have to pay if they create jobs in the United States, they'll pay full taxes

01:29like everybody else.

01:31So you're getting big taxpayers, big job producers, and we'll be able to sell maybe a million

01:38of these cards, maybe more than that.

01:40And if you add up the numbers, they're pretty good.

01:42As an example, a million cards would be worth five trillion dollars, five trillion.

01:49And if you sell 10 million of the cards, that's a total of 50 trillion dollars.

01:54Well, we have 35 trillion in debt.

01:56That'd be nice.

01:57So we'll see.

01:58But it could be great.

02:01Maybe it will be fantastic.

02:04We have it all worked out from the legal standpoint.

02:08It's totally legal to do.

02:10Has it been done before?

02:11It's been done in many different forms.

02:13We give them away.

02:15We shouldn't give them away.

02:17Would a Russian oligarch be eligible for a gold card?

02:21Yeah, possibly.

02:22I know some Russian oligarchs that are very nice people.

02:27They're not quite as wealthy as they used to be.

02:32They're not as wealthy as they used to be.

02:34I think they could afford, I think they could afford five million dollars.

02:37No, a lot of people are going to want to, a lot of people are going to want to be in

02:42this country and they'll be able to work and provide jobs and build companies and pay taxes.
