00:00Good morning to all of us. This is the latest weather update for Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

00:08At the moment, we are not being monitored by low-pressure areas or typhoons inside and outside our Philippine area of responsibility,

00:15even though we are still expecting rains in a large part of our country due to weather systems that are continuously affecting our rivers.

00:25Here in Visayas and Mindanao, we are expecting rains due to the effects of the shear line

00:31as well as the east release or the hot air coming from the Pacific Ocean.

00:36And if we can see here in our latest satellite animation,

00:39we have clouds that are affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

00:44The weather will be gloomy today for the Visayas and Mindanao area

00:48and it is accompanied by scattered rains, thunderstorms, and landslides.

00:53In a part of the Luzon, there is still an effect of northeastern sun or hot air

00:58and this hot air will also cause light to moderate rains, mostly here in the eastern sections of the Luzon area.

01:06Meanwhile, for the next few days, we expect that the effect of this shear line will continue,

01:13especially in the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao.

01:16Starting tomorrow, the rains will be strong over the eastern sections of the Mindanao area

01:22and when the weekend comes, the axis of this shear line will gradually increase

01:27and there will be heavy rains on Saturdays in the Bicol region as well as in the eastern Visayas.

01:35So, we may experience moderate to at times heavy rains due to the effects of this shear line.

01:44The weather will be good today here in the Luzon,

01:48following the continuous flow of cold air, we will experience light to moderate rains

01:53in the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

02:01Meanwhile, in the northern part of the Luzon, we will continue to experience cloudy to cloudy skies.

02:08If there are heavy rains, this is just an indication that there will be heavy rains.

02:13Locos Region for the rest of Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabar Zone, Maropa, and Bicol Region.

02:23Temperature forecast for the surrounding cities.

02:26Here in the Luzon, the maximum temperature is 31 degrees Celsius.

02:3128 degrees Celsius maximum temperature will be experienced today here in Tuguegarao, Legazpi, and Tagaytay.

02:39And here in Baguio, the maximum temperature will be 15 to 22 degrees Celsius

02:44and 30 degrees Celsius maximum temperature today here in Metro Manila.

02:50So, there will be time in the northern part of our country for Visayas and Mindanao

02:55where there will be a continuous effect of easterlies.

02:58Also, the effect of the shear line will be rainy or cloudy

03:03when there are heavy rains in the entire Visayas and Mindanao area.

03:08Meanwhile, for Palawan, we expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions

03:12and the isolated rains will be temporary.

03:19Temperature forecast for the surrounding cities.

03:21Here in Palawan, Calayan Islands, and Puerto Princesa,

03:24the maximum temperature can reach 31 or 32 degrees Celsius.

03:29Meanwhile, here in the surrounding cities, for Visayas and Mindanao,

03:33the maximum temperature in Iloilo can reach 30 degrees Celsius.

03:38Also, for Metro Cebu, 29 degrees Celsius maximum temperature for Tacloban.

03:44Meanwhile, here in Zamboanga, the maximum temperature will range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius,

03:5129 degrees Celsius maximum temperature for Cagayan de Oro,

03:55and for Metro Davao, the maximum temperature will reach 30 degrees Celsius today.

04:02For the situation of our ocean, we still expect a cloudy to very cloudy ocean

04:09for the cities of Catanduanes, Northern, and Eastern Samar.

04:14This is due to the effect of the windy weather.

04:17So, we still expect a very cloudy ocean.

04:20Those are the areas that are highlighted in red.

04:23So, it is still dangerous to sail, especially for our countrymen who have small sea vehicles.
