00:00In figure skating, Filipino figure skater Paolo Borromeo shares his recent experience

00:06as he represented the country for the first time in the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin,

00:11China.

00:12Here's Karl Delasco with the report.

00:14As he wears the natural tri-colors again, Filipino figure skater Paolo Borromeo show

00:21off his prowess in the 9th Asian Winter Games.

00:24Although this is only Borromeo's second competition this year, he still managed to

00:28give the audience a great performance despite finishing 5th place in the Sofia Trophy in

00:33Bulgaria.

00:34The skater racked up 61.11 in the short program, 117.85 in the free skating program, adding

00:42up to the 179.86 for his final score, enough for him to place in the 10th spot.

00:48You know, it's my first year representing the Philippines, but it was something that

00:54I had thought to do a long time ago.

00:57So I'm really happy that it was able to come to fruition now and that they seem to

01:02welcome me with open arms and all my family is very happy that I have the Filipino flag

01:08and they're all cheering.

01:09So it makes me really happy.

01:10Borromeo also shared the most valuable lesson that he learned throughout his quadrennial

01:15multi-sport showcase campaign.

01:17I think the most important thing is to just try and just go out there and if you enjoy

01:24it, like give it your all.

01:26You never know what happens, but nothing will happen if you don't try.

01:30So whatever your dreams are, you gotta just get out there and put some skates on and practice

01:35and just enjoy your time in life.

01:37Meanwhile, Borromeo and other figure skaters, Sofia Frank, Alexander Corovid, and Isabela

01:43Gamez are in South Korea to join the 2025 International Skating Union Four Continents
