00:00If the Chinese New Year is still around, are you looking for a recipe for the upcoming Chinese New Year?
00:06Why don't you try the recipe of baktaw or grilled squid version of the Chinese New Year that we brought to you?
00:13Let's find out how to make it here in Sarap Pinoy!
00:19Now that the Chinese New Year is around, we are all looking forward to good luck.
00:24That's why we can't forget to prepare food that symbolizes happiness and new hope.
00:31And if there's one dish that can give a different twist to your celebration, it's baktaw or steamed squid.
00:39And did you know that in Chinese culture, squid or squid is usually prepared
00:44because it symbolizes prosperity, longevity, and good fortune.
00:49That's why to teach us how to cook it, we will be joined by Jessie and Mia Gadapan here in Sarap Pinoy.
01:01First, Chef Jessie will boil the water for cooking the squid.
01:06First, she will put the squid.
01:08The cooking process is until it just boils a little.
01:14We will just mix it until it's cooked.
01:18After boiling the squid for a few minutes, turn off the heat so that it won't overcook and harden.
01:25It's cooked. Let's transfer it to a plate.
01:33Actually, you can remove the seeds.
01:37But if you're really going to prepare it, you really need to include it.
01:42And make sure that it doesn't have water or that the water is drained so that the sauce is only here.
01:49After transferring the squid to a plate, she will pour the ingredients of the baktaw sauce.
01:55This is the seafood soy sauce.
01:59And then garlic.
02:02Next is the spring onions.
02:06And then we will just let the oil boil.
02:09The oil needs to be really hot so that when you put it in the squid, it won't have a smell.
02:17Once the oil boils, she will immediately pour it in our dish so that the ingredients put in it will be cooked.
02:23There, our steamed baktaw is cooked. It's perfect to prepare for this coming Chinese New Year.
02:29I'm sure that this will not only fill your stomach, but it will also bring positive vibes and energy throughout the year.
