00:00The provincial government of Davao approved their tourism development plan
00:05while the Mati City Airport is under rehabilitation.

00:16Here in the 58-hectare lot in Barangay Dahikan in Mati City, Davao Oriental,
00:21the new Tourism and Investment Hub in Mindanao will be established.
00:26After almost five decades of delay,
00:29the foundation laying of the new Mati City Airport has been completed.
00:36The rehabilitation of the area is divided into two parts.
00:40The first phase is for the construction of the passenger terminal
00:44and other facilities to accommodate the propeller jets
00:48while the second phase is for the expansion of the runway.
00:53The effective length is 1,500 by 36 meters,
00:58capable for a turbo propeller aircraft.
01:02The strip is good enough, which is about 150 meters.
01:07With terminal building, however, the terminal building
01:10is now on a dilapidated stage, which needs to be rehabilitated.
01:18And because of the many opportunities in the province,
01:23the provincial government is now supporting its Tourism Development Plan.
01:28They will also speed up the distribution of services
01:32because Davao Oriental will be connected to places in the Philippines
01:37and other parts of the world.
01:39It is expected that the runway will be fully operational next year.
