00:1012 schools are being investigated because they are listed in the program even though they are not the ones studying.

00:22The Department of Education is investigating the 12 private schools

00:26because of the existence of ghost beneficiaries of the Senior High School Voucher Program in different regions of the country.

00:32It is listed that the students are beneficiaries of the government's voucher program even though they are not the ones studying there.

00:40Education Secretary Sani Angara mobilized her legal team to study and face the complaints of those involved in the scheme.

00:49A student who is not studying in a private school is being recorded there.

00:58That's how you get ghost beneficiaries.

01:01Sometimes, a student has a multiple learner reference number.

01:07So, that's what they do.

01:09They get those numbers and enroll them in GASPE.

01:15The incoming grade 11 students who finished public school will automatically receive a voucher from Php 14,000 to Php 22,000.

01:24Students from private schools can apply for the program.

01:29In the school year 2023-2024,

01:32more than Php 12,800 were discovered by the deaf and ghost beneficiaries of the Senior High School Voucher Program.

01:38That's why they did not pay Php 245 million for private schools.

01:46more than Php 1,300 students were discovered by the ghost beneficiaries.

01:50That's why they did not pay Php 25 million for private schools.
