00:00CIDG Director-Police Major General Nicolás Torre III has pleaded not guilty in filing a case against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:10This is in line with the former president's statement that incumbent senators should be killed.

00:21CIDG Director-Police Major General Nicolás Torre III has pleaded not guilty in filing a case against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:33Torre did this as a Filipino, a police officer, and has no political affiliation.

00:39Yesterday, Torre formally filed a case against Duterte in the Department of Justice for inciting sedition and unlawful utterance.

00:47This is in line with his statement that incumbent senators should be killed.

00:51We saw that the element of violating the law is in what he said and in what he did.

00:59The official explained that it is not good to use words that are usually said to be a joke.

01:05This can be taken seriously by supporters of the former president, like his declaration in the War on Drugs.

01:13That is why we will not be taken seriously by other countries and other people if our policy is like that,

01:18that they have normalized violence and there is no law. That is not allowed.

01:23CIDG did not allow the public to respect the legal process in order to avoid speculation that it could be the cause of violence.

01:33CIDG emphasized transparency and impartiality in handling complaints.

01:38As you know, the law applies to all equally. It's up to them if they still want to do those things.

01:48They saw that the law is violated. We are saying that the law is violated. That should not be done.

01:54Torre insisted that he will stand until the end of his case against the former president.
