00:00I think I must have made almost about close to 70 to 75 trips to China in these 30 plus years.

00:10This particular boarding pass of those days, if you see this particular Chinese airline,

00:15it doesn't have the name in English of the airline. Those days I was based out of Hong Kong.

00:23Even the print has faded and the same with these boarding passes. The print has completely gone.

00:32Hi, my name is Niranjan Gidwani. I am currently a part-time consultant director for two setups.

00:41One is a startup and in one I'm assisting a friend to streamline his business operations.

00:47I have been outside India for 34 years, out of which 31 years have been in Dubai.

00:56My total corporate experience spans over 41 years. From the first two or three years

01:05when I started my travel, which was sometime around 1987, the idea struck me that I should

01:12start collecting boarding passes. I don't know how this idea came into my mind,

01:18but I'm very happy that I went ahead and started collecting those because as we speak,

01:24what has happened is that my last flight that I took, my boarding pass collected was, I think,

01:30number 634. Also it has happened that in between some time I was not able to collect for various

01:40reasons and some of those passes may have got misplaced, but the running number sequence is

01:45accurate. And now when I sit back and sometimes look at those passes and reminisce those various

01:51flights, I think it brings back all the memories, the excitement, the fears, the apprehensions that

01:58I went through my entire career. And it is also possible now that since I have got into the

02:06process of writing quite a bit on various articles across publications in India and the GCC,

02:12that I may start writing a book which is a collage or a collection of all my articles

02:18and my experiences and I would probably title that book also as Boarding Pass.
