00:00Good morning and live from the ASA Weather Forecasting Center.
00:05Here is the time, today is Sunday, February 16, 2025.
00:11Here in our latest satellite images, we can see that there are still three weather systems
00:15that are affecting our country.
00:16First is the shear line, which will still bring rains, particularly in the extreme northern Luzon.
00:22Again, the shear line is a flood of hot and cold winds, which will bring storms
00:27and bring rains, especially here in the extreme northern Luzon.
00:31We still have the easterlies, or the wind coming from the Pacific Ocean,
00:35which will bring rains, especially here in the eastern part of the northern and central Luzon.
00:42Meanwhile, we have the Intertropical Convergence Zone, or ITCZ,
00:46which is the wind flow from different hemispheres of the world.
00:50It will bring, as you can see, there are storms in the southern part of Mindanao,
00:55which is why today, there is a high chance of heavy rains in the southern part of Mindanao,
01:04especially in the Misambuanga Peninsula, as well as in the Barm, Soxargen, and Davao region.
01:10Meanwhile, based on our latest data, we are not monitoring any low-pressure areas.
01:16We also have no storms inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:20The winds are getting weaker, which is why today, we will experience a hot weather,
01:26especially here in the northern part of the country, which includes the province of Bataan.
01:31A large part of the country will experience generally fair weather,
01:35with isolated weather, such as heavy rains,
01:38thunderstorms, and storms, mostly in the afternoon until nightfall.
01:42We expect that in the coming days, possibly tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday,
01:47the winds will be strong again and it will bring a cold weather to our country.
01:53But again, today, we expect that by the afternoon,
01:55there will be a hot weather here in a large part of our province.
02:00Here in Luzon, we still expect a large chance of heavy rains in Batanes and Baboyan Islands,
02:06along the shoreline,
02:07while the easterlies will bring heavy rains,
02:11particularly in the mainland areas of Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Lalawigan of Quezon.
02:17In the northern part of Luzon, we expect generally fair weather,
02:20but it is still possible for isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
02:24And like what I said earlier, the winds will be weaker,
02:27which is why we will experience a hot weather, especially here in the northern part of Luzon.
02:32The temperature outside is 24 to 31 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao,
02:3723 to 31 degrees Celsius in Baguio,
02:4016 to 23 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila.
02:4323 to 32 degrees Celsius in Tagaytay, 30 degrees Celsius in Legazpi,
02:49and 32 degrees Celsius in Bisays and Mindanao.
02:55Generally, we will experience fair weather here in Palawan.
03:00The temperature in Kalayaan Islands is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,
03:04in Puerto Princesa, 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:07A large portion of Kabisayaan will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms on this day.
03:15The temperature in Iloilo is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius,
03:19in Metro Cebu, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius,
03:23and in Tacloban, 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:27And due to the ITCZ or Intertropical Convergence,
03:30there is a high chance of a cloudy sky with scattered rain showers
03:34in Buanga, Pinzula, Barm, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and Davao region.
03:44So, there is a high chance of sudden flooding or flash floods.
03:48There is also a chance of landslides in the southern part of Mindanao.
03:53The scattered part of Mindanao will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms on this day.
04:00Generally, there is also fair weather in a large part of Visayas and other parts of Mindanao.
04:05The temperature in Buanga is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,
04:09in Cagendeoro, 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,
04:12while in Davao, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
04:17And because the wind is a bit weak,
04:19there are no high gale warnings in any part of our country.
04:22This means that the sea vehicles and small boats will spread to our neighboring islands,
04:27although there is a possibility of sudden flooding,
04:32especially if there are thunderstorms.
04:34So, be careful, especially in our country where there are small boats.
04:40Meanwhile, our day will be popular with 6.20 a.m. to 6.01 p.m.
04:46And stay tuned to our various social media platforms,
04:49on X, Facebook, YouTube, and our website, bagon.pagasa.gov.ph,
04:54where we release information, especially if we have thunderstorm advisories,
04:58rainfall information, flood advisories,
05:01and other information on our climate and weather.
05:05And we will continue to give updates from here in Pag-Asa Weather Forecasting Center.
05:09I am Obet Badrina.
05:12Let's always prepare for a safe Philippines.
05:16Happy Sunday to all of you.
