00:00So at the third base position, to me, you know, some people
00:03laugh at me when I say he's the most underrated player in
00:05baseball, because they're like, nah, he gets enough credit.
00:08I still don't think so.
00:09I mean, Jose Ramirez, to me, is as boring a fantasy pick as it
00:15gets and as simple a pick to click as it gets.
00:18You know exactly what you're getting at the end of the
00:20season.
00:21Then it gets a little dicey here at third base.
00:23Honestly, we got Suarez, Matt Chapman on San Francisco, Jazz,
00:28who I believe is moving off third, right, back to second,
00:31if I'm not mistaken, this year.
00:33Manny Machado, allegedly, right.
00:36Devers, very solid pick there.
00:37Guerrero, does he qualify?
00:39Sam, you'll have to check that.
00:41For Toronto at third, Ryan McMahon.
00:44Drop off here to Jake Berger, Willie Castro.
00:47I think, you know, the deeper names are who I really want to
00:50talk about here, but let's start off here, George.
00:51If you don't get Jose Ramirez, what do you do?
00:53That's a good place to start.
00:57Now, I actually think you're right, by the way, but Jose
00:58Ramirez, he doesn't get as much love as he should here.
01:01I mean, he's just a fantastic player.
01:03It was a thing that was his first round pick, right?
01:05First round pick, and once again, he's in a position where
01:08it's not that deep here.
01:09You can, you can sort of get it and forget about it there.
01:12Ramirez, I mean, Devers, I would have number two, Manny Machado.
01:16Bregman depends on what you're going to do.
01:17I think he's going to do in Boston.
01:18He's certainly there.
01:19Reilly, you brought up during the break, got hurt a lot of
01:21last year, was sort of forgetting about him.
01:23And then after that, that's my cutoff line, right?
01:25I want any of those five guys to be thrilled with.
01:27After that, Aronado, you know, Alex Baum, you know, I know
01:33you're big on Cabernet, which a lot of us are.
01:35Could be a future star here.
01:37Chapman, can he do it again?
01:39Max Muncy, going to hit you a lot of home runs, maybe not
01:41much else there.
01:42He's a guy I kind of like to get late in that Dodger lineup.
01:46You know, so Vientos, is he going to be the brand?
01:48He sort of, he broke out last year, but is he going to be
01:50that, that guy now, where he's going to have 30 plus home
01:53runs in that Mets lineup as well, and the Mets should
01:54score a ton of runs this season.
01:57So third base is solid.
02:00I think it's solid.
02:00I can find 10 guys here.
02:01I don't mind.
02:02If you're playing in a 10-team league, I'm okay.
02:0412, 15-team league, it's a little bit more dicey, just
02:06like it does at most positions.
02:08Yeah, let's dive a little deeper here to a couple of
02:11players. First, let's do Jazz, who went from Miami to New
02:15York, took on a new position because Torres refused to
02:17play anywhere else.
02:18I believe that's what happened.
02:20I think he played a capable third base.
02:22And so in fantasy, he will qualify there.
02:24But George, he's also going in most leagues I saw in the
02:27third, fourth round of fantasy drafts, which is the highest
02:30he's ever gone.
02:31It's always been health has been the question for Jazz.
02:34That was not the question for him last year.
02:36It was just moving around all positions.
02:38And the other player I wanted to mention, who's not on
02:41this list, who you just mentioned, is Nolan Arenado.
02:44I mean, we are getting close to the time where Arenado
02:46is going to have to report to Jupiter.
02:48He's not there as of yet.
02:51He's the kind of player, George, too, to me that I think
02:54is going to have to take a look in the mirror, not as far
02:56as his talent is concerned, but I think in order for him
02:58to go somewhere else, George, he's got to come off this
03:01like short list that he has.
03:05My thought with him, somebody asked me the other day about
03:07him, George, like where did you go?
03:09Whatever, you know, he's the kind of guy I think reports
03:11to camp, spends the entire time with St. Louis, and then
03:15the night before the season ends up somewhere else.
03:18They want to move him.
03:19We know that, right?
03:21They've talked to a number of teams.
03:22Boston was an option at one point.
03:24The Yankees looked like they were all that interested
03:26in taking him on.
03:27Not unless St. Louis wants to take on all that Strowman
03:29contract. The Cubs could be the open-up contacts
03:34there again, but I don't think so either.
03:36Train him in the division, too?
03:37That'd be kind of wicked, right?
03:38Something we generally don't see.
03:40So it's going to be an interesting situation.
03:42Maybe someone gets hurt at third base during spring
03:44training and that'll help them out there.
03:47So it's a problem here.
03:50I think Jazz, by the way, people like the fact, well,
03:52he's all year at Yankee Stadium, right?
03:54That's 81 home games in the short porch there that
03:56he should hit that.
03:57You said he, I guess I'm going to go a little bit
03:59of a rant here now.
04:00Good.
04:02I don't understand the Yankees why they say, oh, he's
04:04going to play half his games at third, half his games
04:05at second. If you watched the Yankees last year, he
04:08wasn't very good at third.
04:09He wasn't, he may not have been terrible, but he wasn't
04:11very good at third.
04:12All right.
04:12He forgot to tag somebody at one place.
04:14In fact, he could tag, it was weird.
04:15It wasn't very good.
04:16All right, he was part of that inning in, by the way,
04:18against the fifth inning against the Dodgers here, where
04:20he didn't make a play at third base.
04:21It wasn't an easy play, but one you would have liked
04:23to have seen made.
04:25Bad throw from Volpe as well.
04:26So he, what I'm trying to say is the Yankees who had
04:29a massive problem with defense last year, they all were
04:31terrible. Torres, Chisholm, you know, it just was
04:34terrible. Put him at second.
04:36That's where he should be.
04:37He's a second baseman.
04:38You put him at second.
04:39All right, you let him hit.
04:40Yeah, that's what the Yankees should do here.
04:41It's what they don't want to do for whatever reason.
04:43Dominguez should be your center fielder.
04:45Why do you want these young hitters to be thinking
04:46about their defense when you put him at a position here?
04:48It doesn't make any sense to me when you have other
04:50guys who can play the other position here.
04:52Yankees have no third baseman, no matter what they do
04:54here. I think, bottom line is this.
04:56I think Jazz is going to be fine.
04:58He stays healthy.
04:59Yeah, I think he might hit 30, 30 plus.
05:00He's going to steal some bases here.
05:02I think he's going to bat first in the Yankee lineup.
05:04I think that could help as well because guess who he's
05:06hitting in front of?
05:07Mr. Judge.
