00:00Emirates Airlines set up a humanitarian airbridge between Dubai and India to transport urgent
00:08medical and relief items to support India in its fight to control the serious COVID-19
00:14situation.
00:15Emirates will offer cargo capacity free of charge on an as-available basis on all of
00:20its flights to nine cities in India to help international NGOs deliver relief supplies
00:26rapidly to where it is needed.
00:28We've been working with a lot of NGOs around the world for a number of years to be honest
00:32and of course there's a very strong bond and relationship that we have together.
00:36As and when there's a crisis, immediately we see a lot of demand from their part and
00:42usually we understand those movements, we understand the agility and the speed and the
00:47facilitation that needs to happen and therefore we're able to immediately mobilize capacity
00:51very quickly that is needed and we work jointly very much together to ensure that the movement
00:56of these goods, life-saving goods, happens almost seamlessly.
01:00In the past weeks, Emirates Sky Cargo has already been transporting medicines and medical
01:04equipments on schedule and charter cargo flights to India.
01:08Medical supplies will be shipped to the following cities – Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru,
01:13Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.
01:19First shipment is a consignment of over 12 tons of multi-purpose tents from the World
01:23Health Organization, bound for Delhi and coordinated by the IHC in Dubai.
01:28Two additional shipments have been booked for May 15th and 16th.
01:31The program will go until Emirates sees an improvement in India's current COVID-19
01:35crisis, which is claiming over 4,000 lives daily.
