Levi's, Wrangler jeans Africa production hangs in balance  Levi's and Wrangler jeans are pure Americana, but millions of pairs of the fashion staple are shipped from a factory in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. But the site risks closure, with the US law that enabled it set to expire in September unless US President Donald Trump agrees to extend it. The 25-year-old African Growth and Opportunities Act gives duty-free benefits to goods made on the continent and without it many US importers will likely look at cheaper production hubs. 00:52It's a well-developed community, you know.

00:54And we have a community of 150,000 people who directly, indirectly depend on us.

01:24So I think President Trump would be favorable to Africa.

01:41That's my personal gut feeling.

01:43But overall feeling is that, you know, and it makes logic, because he works on logics

01:48and common sense.

01:51It makes sense, because you're taking away business from somewhere.

01:54You have to play somewhere.

01:56You cannot produce what we are producing in America, right?

02:00So he has to find an alternative.

02:04And I think he's smart that he will look for an alternative in Africa.

02:32Our families are very happy.

02:34For example, me as a mother, and so many mothers who are inside here, they are very happy because

02:39they are getting their daily bread here.

02:42Our children are going to school.

02:44The society at large is very happy because the rate of crime in the society have gone

02:51down, because majority are employed here.
