00:15I mean, Tito is an all time or as a manager and, you know, I mean, he's really good at

00:21Number one, one of the all time best.
00:22Number two, personality is good.
00:24He's got just that throwback baseball guy, you know, funny, humorous, great attitude.
00:31And I think he'll be good for the Reds.
00:33And I think it's always a good day for baseball when Tito Francona is managing.
00:38And I'm happy he's healthy and I hope it holds.
00:42So the Padres, I have to ask that, you know, there was talk that we were hearing out here
00:48that they had money issues.
00:51Is any of that true?
00:53Well, there's a lot of mystery around the Padres right now.
00:57They don't seem to have money issues presently.
01:01I think in the upcoming few years they will.
01:03I mean, for example, next year, Fernando Tatissa's contract goes up to $30 million, Machado will
01:09be about $30 million, Xander Bogarts will be up about there, about $90 million sunk
01:14into three guys next year.
01:16And you expand that out a little bit, what they're going to owe you, Darvish, next year
01:19and Joe Musgrove, Jay Cronenworth, you know, they're going to have about $120, $130 million
01:26tied up in like five or six or seven guys.
01:29So I think, you know, beginning next year, Gissel Dicey, this year, it looks like they're
01:37going to have to cut a little bit of payroll.
01:38They're up above where they were last year, but they're still within the top 10 in the
01:43game.
01:44The thing that is the mystery over this franchise is with the owner, Peter Seidler, passing
01:49away, they've named his brother, John, as the control person.
01:53And the problem is, you know, Peter's widow, Sheila Seidler, has filed suit against a couple
01:59of the Seidler brothers, you know, saying they're pushing her out of the organization.
02:04So, you know, it could get ugly, hopefully it won't.
02:08Nobody knows for sure where the suit's going to lead, but, you know, we'll see.
02:12But that's why there's some mystery about, you know, if the suit gets really ugly and
02:17then somebody gets forced to sell or the Seidler family has to sell, I mean, things could change
02:21with the money.
