NU Lady Bulldogs ready to defend title  All eyes are on the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs. The UAAP Season 86 champions look tougher and fancier in Season 87, with the help of Premier Volleyball League (PVL) champion coach Sherwin Meneses, in their bid for back-to-back titles. NU team captain Bella Belen, who was the Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player of Season 84 showed confidence in her team’s ability to defend its crown. 00:00Of course, we didn't have a hard time because most of my teammates have been with me since high school.

00:07And I think it's one of the key factors of our team because there was a time that we had a break,

00:14a Christmas break, for almost two weeks, three weeks.

00:17Then when we returned to training, we didn't have a hard time.

00:20I think one thing that made it easier for us was our chemistry.

00:24We knew how to get along with each other.

00:30We were like a family.

00:35I think the pressure is still there.

00:39I think the pressure is still there for all the players and the team.

00:44But I think for our team, we just need to surpass our own expectations.

00:51Not other people's expectations.

00:53Like what I said earlier, I know myself better.

00:57I know my team better.

00:59I have my own expectations for the team.

01:01We just need to be better every day, every training.

01:04I always tell them that they shouldn't improve right away.

01:08Every training, you know you're improving by 1%.

01:11And at the end of the day, you can improve somehow.

01:14And when the UAP comes, that's the last thing you need to do.

01:19And the team's system will be better.
