00:05Well, Killarney Ghosthunter, one of the influencers online, thinks so.
00:10He thinks it's the best he's ever had.
00:12So us Yorkshire folk decided to head to Guy Fawkes Inn to try it out for ourselves.
00:18We watched Killarney's video, and so we've had the pie, and that was that.
00:24We've decided to come and have the pie.
00:26So you're going to have the steak and ale pie?
00:28Yeah, we are.
00:29At £22.50 for a steak and ale pie with a lump of mash, it ain't cheap.
00:36But for a treat, and in the shadows of York Minster,
00:40not mentioning the fact that this is actually the birthplace of Guido Fawkes himself.
00:47Yes, Guy Fawkes was born on this spot, and he was baptised across the road.
00:54The pastry looks nice.
00:57Smells lovely when it's hot, doesn't it?
01:05It's vintage milk.
01:11Lovely, mate. It's bloody hot.
01:15So the first rule of food reviewing is to always make sure your pie's cooled down
01:21before you shove it in your gob.
01:24But wow, it looked epic.
01:26And I hear that the shortcrust pastry was bang on.
01:31The gravy has some pickled onions in it, and it had the perfect crunch,
01:36as well as succulent steak and plenty of it inside.
01:40For a treat in such an epic venue, it was definitely worth it.
01:46And I hear that it was very filling too.
01:49So whilst you have to order sides if you want out else with it,
01:52the pie and mash itself was spot on.
01:56And it's all homemade by the chef in the house.
02:00So it's definitely up there with one of the best pies we've had,
02:04but there is a lot of competition here in Yorkshire, the home of Denbydale pies.
02:10I'm chuffed to see somewhere doing so well.
02:14Tourists flocking from all over to try proper British pub grub.

02:27Not going to be an everyday thing, but it was very nice, yeah.

02:32For a pub type meal, yeah, very nice indeed, yeah.

02:43Yeah, now I'm getting hurts because I've had too much.
