00:20Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces announced. Sheikh
00:25Mohammed made the announcement at a government summit's main plenary session on Monday. Sheikh
00:30Mohammed said that 50 years from now, there may be no more oil reserves to depend on,
00:35which is why the UAE government has started to focus on alternative resources to consolidate
00:40its economic strength.
00:42Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conceded a crushing defeat this morning in Delhi state
00:46elections as early results showed anti-corruption campaigner Arvind Kejriwal's party set for
00:52a landslide victory. Modi assured Kejriwal of the federal government's full support following
00:57the right-wing premier's first election loss since storming to power last May. Early tallies
01:03showed Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party leading in just six seats in the 70-seat state assembly
01:09with former Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party ahead in 63. The Congress
01:14party was suffering another mauling after being thumped at the general election, trailing
01:19in all seats as vote counting continued.
01:22US President Barack Obama has agreed to hold off a controversial decision on sending arms
01:27to Ukraine until German-led efforts to broker a ceasefire with Russia are given a chance.
01:33Hosting Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House, Obama said he hoped she could reach
01:37a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end 10 months of bloodshed in eastern Ukraine.
01:43However, he warned that more punitive measures were in the pipeline if that fails.
01:48And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 31 degrees Celsius, dropping
01:52to 20 degrees at night.
